'Regulars' sit on stools surrounding the bar refusing to move whilst punters queue and bar staff stand waiting to serve them! Food okay but has a monopoly in the area and has become complacent. Prices creeping up. Has been and could be so much better with just a bit of effort.....

It was great to find a pub serving "real" bar meals. Most pubs seem to be licensed restaurants these days. There was a brilliant choice of meals at very reasonable prices. The service was good and the staff were very pleasant. An ideal place to go for a night out with friends. We were here on holiday and I would recommend this pub anyday.Don't know any history of the place but on the night we went it could not be faulted.

Oh bad beer. Lazy staff. Food declined after the rid of head chef. Still is amazingly busy though. I guess people stick to what they know.

Never short on Doom Bar and Tribute, pleasant chatty staff, and the grub is of no mean standard either. This is a PERFECT place for a range-finder or two before a day trip on the number 1 or 2 into Plym.
I say that for a reason, as during the evening's you might get more frustrated. It understandably gets VERY busy, and if you don't want to eat you need to be prepared to find yourself compressed into an oddly small bar area.

Sheila owns both this and The Brunel. Although she is looking for buyers for the latter.

brubs hate to bust ur bubble but it is still owned by sheila

I think this place has got better since the days when it was owned by the Brunels landlady. Can still get a bit crowded as it's the only pub servicing the Latchbrook estate, good food though.

nice pub, prob say the second best in Saltash, ob behind the cecil. Food is great, beer is too. Its only problem is its success which can leave it a little crowded at times.

Nice enough place, just a shame that its recently been taken over by new management...staff are friendly and willing to help...Since the 'take-over' a lot of changes have been made, which are a bit of a shock...people always enjoyed going there because it was just a pub, but with brilliant restaurant service...but now it just seems to be like any other pub in saltash!! Even the brunel has table service!!!

Big pub, big restaurant area, fairly big beer garden and nice spacious bar areas. A little out of the way for most of the town, but no major hike to get there. Beer is ok, not tried the food, although i am assured it is of a good standard. You will find me here only for special reasons, pub crawl, gathering only.

Good food pub, good family atmosphere. Beer is cold, but can sometimes taste a little off.
Lovely atmosphere of a summers evening, I like this pub. Good place to take videos of when on a pub adventures night.

This pub is great. The food is very good. The beer garden is back now that the extension is finished.

Discovered this pub while on holiday. Lovely food and good value. Can get busy and best to book if you don't want to wait. Can get very noisy though. Shame they have got rid of the beer garden to build an extension!

Not as bad as the Brunel, run by the same people, but this pub does ahave really nice staff. Very noisy mind, and has the habbit of attracting the Brunels crowed. Beers pretty good though, and the food is really good. Preety good noght out as long as theres a group of u.

Situated on the outskirts of saltash i am pretty sure this pub was an old coach house which has been expanded over the decades and is presently having one of these expansions done` the old bar at the rear of the building has been made larger by three fold and also a new ladies and gents toilet block the kitchen has been revamped with a new food prep room .The builders whome i have had great pleasure in working with have done a great job keeping the pub up and running while the clientel sit and eat there meals cooked by Micky the typical bad tempered moody good chef as all good ones are. try it
