Harveys is a fun bar, they have D.J's on at the weekend, who actually play decent music. and they I.D so you know that your not going to be surrounded by kids. the staff are fun and actually look like they are enjoying they're job, which you don't see often in pubs. they seem to do plenty in the week too, with salsa on a wednesday and comedy nights on a thursday, they seem to make sure that the customers enjoy themselves. the bar is clean and the beer taste really good too.

4got to say last time they sell this green stuff in a pint glass i think its called kriptonite its very nice and not to baddly priced ;-)

very nice pub looks gr8 after the refit the bar staf are rearly nice and the door men are gr8 espeshley the young one i think his name is egor hes realy helpfull and you can have a laugh with him.

Significantly improved since the refurbishment earlier this year. Beer is reasonable in terms of both quality and price. Bar staff are friendly. Bouncers are unnecessarily heavy handed on many occassions and this often makes the punters aggressive. Since it was updated there appears to be far less trouble. All in all a pleasent enough place to spend an evening drinking and enjoying yourself. Just dont upset the bouncers!!!

Cheap, townie, full of randoms! If you go in you won't be coming out... you'll stick to the carpet! It is the only place open after 1am!

harveys bar isn't the cheapest plac in matlock at all. but the staff are fun and the bear actually has a very good rep. the guiness is supposed to be the best in england. and th place is still undergoing refurb, thats why its unoticeable! larger and keg only? are you sure your talking about the same place? try spirits and cocktails aswel and then your getting some where. and i cant think of any bar/night club in matlock that has a cue halfway up the street every weekend. can you?

Cheap & nasty, reminds me of some really bad clubs about 15 years ago. Needs some serious work to bring it up to date.
Beer is rubbish. It may be chaeper than other places in town but it shows!
Avoid at all costs, there are planty of better bars (well two!) within a minutes walk.

Refurb unnoticeable, still looks like the same hole it's always been, though now has a licence until one a.m. at weekends. Lager and keg only, but cheaper and a better alternative to the town's nightclub.

Newly refurbished, well priced friendly joint. Live DJs at weekend, welcoming atmosphere.
