Bloody hell! This place has changed a lot since I was last in, they've even got cask ales now. A vast improvement.

I hadn't been to S1 in a while but was pleasantly surprised when I walked in yesterday. There's been no change to the decor but the place looks really clean (it was quite manky previously) and the service was very good. The biggest change is that they have finally got Sky Sports showing in the pub. I did found out that the pub is under new management and it really does seem to have made a difference.

Absolute crap. Really. Some of the worst in Sheffield. Crap selection, music, and patrons. Hell.

Hmmmm my previous post slagging this place off seems to have been deleted. Either way it basically said that this place is awful. Awful awful awful. Avoid it like the plague. Full of either 16 year old chavs or 50 year old women who want a quick one in the toilets. Urgh.

What a colour scheme! I'm still recovering my eyesight! The toilets are filthy, the service isn't great, crap music (which is obviously on a loop) and the food is like all the other bland stuff you get offered everywhere else. another thing, I object to having various shots offered to me all night. If I want one, i'll ask for one.

Good value - best one on West St in this respect. The toilets are a disgrace - usually a pool of urine that has to be avoided in there, think one of the cubicles doesnt lock. BUT the barmaids are usually very nice looking, and there are a 3 bandits and 2 quiz machines.

came in about 10 pm on a saturday night , served quite quick ,beer ok ,toilets need attention.
overall nothing special in an area of town that has too many pubs as it is....!

Seating not great? Didn't realise there WERE any seats! They seem to let twice as many people in here as is safe/practical. If you like being crushed against the bar not being able to get served and generally feeling claustrophobic in the semi-darkness whilst your clothes are holed with numerous fag burns, this is a good place to go.

I think too_many_BSE_burgers comments are a rather harsh, the drinks prices are reasonable, especially during the week, its cheaper than the Student Unions! If your after a good party atmosphere then this is the place to be, staff are freindly also easy on the eye. Its my and many others favorite pub on West street.

If you're into smashed glass, sticky floors, truly horrendous colour schemes and a total and complete lack of soul and/or imagination, then this is the place for you.

A great bar! Ideal if you like inexpensive drinks served quickly by good looking staff! I missed O'Neils on St Paddies as well, but they still sell the 'Blonde with the black skirt'.

O'neils was rubbish, S1 is much better and whoever said the bar maids weren't too hot (that would be tim), obviously needs his eyesight tested. But in general it's got cheap drinks and a good atmosphere so I'd definitely recommend it!

S1 is a must-stop on a crawl along west street! cheap drinks during the week and on friday nights are a big plus. Bar maids not usually too hot and seating arrangements not great if in a big group though.

Bring back O'neills! I really missed it on St. Pat's. Not bad on price or atmosphere in S1 tho. Service can be v. slow when busy

Used to be O'Neils, has a red theme throught out with good seating. Good mixture of people on a Friday and Sat with relativly cheap drinks. A very good Pre club bar for all backgrounds and ages. Highly recommended!
