Stag, Chiswickback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
I have just moved into the area, and i must add, this pub is a nice little gem, between Acton and Chiswick, nearer to Chiswick for the better! I have been in there several times and am in no doubt this will defo be my new local. On my first visit i was made to feel very welcome, by both the customers that were in there and the staff. Great pool table, brillaint jukebox, once i had learnt how to navigate it, Its just like an ipod on the wall. Selling pints of pride for £3.50, which i see as very reasonable especially as it tasted great. Nice to see sky sports on the large screen, 60Inches im told! Some real nice characters in the pub and i would highy recomment the establishment to both young and old, Im mid 30s myself! Don't just take my word on it, get yourself down and see for yourself! You wont be dissapointed.

Traditional locals' pub in the northern parts of Chiswick (i.e. north of the High Road). Has London Pride - well, didn't when I was in there but they'd probably run out. Pool table, TV, etc. Not a very London kind of pub any more but only because this kind of pub is becoming rarer and rarer.

Sorry - wrong pub on my post below, got mixed up. Have asked for it to be removed. Whoops!

I had a few in here earlier this week and found the barman and the locals to be very welcoming. There seems to be some renovation going on and Im not sure if the locals were actually locals or if they were builders taking advantage of having a contract in a pub!
The drinks available are Pride, Hydes Smooth, Guinness, Strongbow, Carlsberg, Stella, Fosters and there is also a space for a guest ale, but it was not being utilised.
The pub itself has a large bar that makes the edges rather narrow, but there is enough space for ample seating and a pool table. I spotted three screens, but they were not on so Im not sure that they show Sky, but Id imagine that they do.
There is some seating outside the front of the pub which is next to a fairly busy road, so not ideal.
Taking everything into account this isnt that bad a pub and I would go back if in the area.

This pub is my new local, having moved from the other side of Chiswick. On my first visit, I was roundly abused by an individual for supporting the 'wrong' football team (I 'should be ashamed of myself', apparently). In 15 years of living in W4, nobody has abused me regarding football in a pub, and I have seen a lot of games. I will not be going back.
I note that this pub has an average rating of 8/10. I would give it 0.8. I wonder who writes these reviews? The figure of suspicion must point at the owners :-)
Disgruntled of W4

Ps, to Cheekyshepherd. The Pool table is back now. They are evening running a pool competition every couple of weeks. With good cash prizes up for grabs. For anyone who fancies themselves as a good player.

The Stag PH, W4. One of the last (If not the last) pub in the W4 area that has real Character. Good, friendly service from the moment you walk in. Don't be put of by previous posts, as the owners have really made this place something. Fosters 2.60 a pint. Live sports, big football and Rugby pub, with a great atmosphere. The pub is mainly used by locals, but all the same, they are also as welcoming as the staff and owners. They have a great digital juke box and are very female friendly too. You'll get a better night here than one of the plastic pubs (of which there are many to choose from) along Chiswick high road. Also you will notice the difference in your wallet / purse too! I can't believe one person posted "a blight on the landscape" These places are very hard to find in this day and age, and so should be treasured!!! Pop along if your in the Acton / Chiswick area, give it a go, you wont be dissapointed.

I lived over this pub about ten years ago for a few months and it was a crazy time. All night benders...wild characters...No pub has come close since. Bridgid & Mick, Kenny, Little-Legs, Fat Steve, Archie and all the rest, I often wonder what happened to you all!

This pub is a great place to either meet up with friends or just pop in for a quick drink. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff fantastic. But the best thing I think is the local’s young & old!! What characters!!
The pub has a big screen and during the Lions tour of NZ the Stag opened it’s doors early to allow the locals to watch the matches live on the big screen, even provided a fry up!!! Awesome!!

The Stag in my opinion is a little treasure which is slightly off the beaten track on Acton Lane,Chiswick. I do not agree with the comment made by "a nosy mouse"and have not had any problems having a few beers there. Also they have a lovely, affordable Sunday roast.Very friendly people.P.S I worked there a few years ago so I personally know most of the clientele. Better since they redec'd, pity they didn't keep the pool tables and quiz nights, but still a friendly little boozer. Karaoke's/Disco's cancelled at weekends as a result of neighbourhood complaints (Bastards! What do they expect living next to a pub?)
Not a pub for single ladies, try the high street for that. You'll get a few drunken old men in here talking out the tops of their hats, but still a quaint little place to get pissed.

Went here last night perfectly decent pub. Friendly staff and locals, great jukebox and one of the few places left in the area that is still a real pub with real people. If you don't like it get down the road to the gastro pubs who im sure will welcome your pink shirt and loafers with open arms.

Did need decorating, but they've gone over the top. Looks odd now. Nice friendly locals pub, service always good and beer is quite good.

Just had an excellent refurbishment. (Which was long needed) The pub is welcoming and friendly to all, well appeared to be anyway. The Beer / Lagers are by far the best ive tasted in a while, in Chiswick. Very nice outside area. Big yard, im told will be a garden soon (Fingers crossed) Great entertainment @ wk ends. Customers are locals and passing trade. New wine list comming soon too!
