The family sent me in for a recce prior to us eating in here. I had a feeling this could be my quickest visit to a pub in history. Housing estate pubs rarely impress me anyway and this one from the outside was no different.
Inside was fairly busy with local residents. After a quick look along the bar (no sign of real ale) I was outside and off down the road within a minute.
The bad point is, it is a Greene King pub. The good point is, it does not sell Greene King beer.

Great news they have Abott on the pump again after a 6 month absence but still no other real ales despite being a gk pub.
Its a start.
|
Still a gay pub apparently.
|
I ordered a half of cider and a half of Guinness the other day and the gay Polish barman put them in the same pint glass what a joker.

A GK pub that does not sell real ales as they said there was no demand for it..Avoid.
|
A shame that it has changed as it used to be a local Weatherspoons pub. For a Weatherspoons pub to sell up, things must have been bad!
|
Empty most lunchtimes and evenings now since the smoking ban was introduced and the manager has barred most of his regulars and dogs are barred too.
Still would make a nice block of flats when it closes.

A Greene King pub that sells one real ale ie Abbot ale if its on that is.I have been there many times but the beer is not well kept and most people drink cheap lagers. It was better when it was a Wetherspoons.

This pub used to be a Wetherspoons but is now owned by Greene King and is now called Woodlands Edge.Still looks like a Wetherspoons but had no real ale on visit but some was just about to be put on.Seems that when real ales are on they are all Greene King beers.Still,as compared to the Crap Hole on the Green up the road this is not a bad pub.

It doesn't have loud music at the moment. It has very cheap lager, cheapest that i have found.
