Very dissapointing food. Can only assume that previous reviewers had visited soon after it had opened, obviously standards have gone way down. Food very over priced for what you get, I had something described as beef goulash for my main but it was chewy beef covered in tinned tomatoes with plain boiled rice, this cost 10.95. Also the service was a bit tersh, being told to go to the bar if we wanted more drinks seemed a bit strange. Wont be going there again !

Off the beaten track.
Clean, old ambience.
Real ale, reasonable food

I used to live near this one [80s!]- and it was then a bit of a dive. It is now looking so much better.

Fantastic home cooked food, you will not be dissapointed. (unless you have not booked on a weekend) Good selection of wines and beer (especially local beer Codger) Friendly staff, Landlord friendly though only seen him smile once. Go here and eat!

Excellent food, bit more than your average pub grub and really friendly atmosphere. To visit at weekends you really need to book. Telephone number above is incorrect - should be 01454 227222
