Sudeley Arms, Cheltenhamback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Yes the food prices are cheap but I cannot comment on quality as I did not eat. The two ales were Hobgoblin and the fast-fading legend that is Doom Bar. Could not see any reason to return.

Sudeley is very much open. Popped in during Cheltenham races. Tribute, Doom Bar and Hobgoblin on tap, friendly staff and very reasonably priced food with generous helpings.

Closed on Monday 8th July when i went past, with To Let signs outside. Is it shut for good??

this is my local, even though i live on the other side of cheltenham, which speaks volumes about the sude'. my nearest pub is a beefeater, where the staff call you sir, uhh, please dont. its nice to go somewhere where the landlord treats you more of a mate than a costumer. older style pub(not themed) that is relaxing and all of the locals dont give you that 'local' look.
also, dont be put off by the football(malabus, you should know better), the sudeley is the only stop for us before we march up to see the mighty town and i have seen trouble in there about three times(in about 16 years of going to the sudeley), but all from away supporters. good beer, good atmosphere and a good welcome. SUDELEY ARMS, SPOT ON.

Started off badly but delivered brilliantly before long. Walked up at 1350 expecting to have a few but found it shuts at 1400 Mon to Thurs. Grr.
In we go though and ask are we ok for a quick pint,no problem says the friendly barman. The ales were Pride and Box Steam Golden Bolt(aka Rev Awdrys Ale),2.70 a pint. Beer quality was good and the welcome stayed friendly. The barman showed no inclination towards shutting now he had a few in,and his son(the landlord) continued the good work when he took over serving. Snooker was put on the telly without issue when we asked and we fell out the door at 1800,when they should have been reopening!!!!! A job very well done,be proud of your efforts gents.

I am reluctant to drink in Cheltenham but I make an exception for this pub. The last time I visited it I was impressed by its atmosphere and its Goff's Jouster beer.
|
Don't go in here on match days when Cheltenham Town FC are playing there is usually a bit of bother...but a nice pub on weekday afternoons and serve some nice ales.

A nice little pub with TWO fires! Has lots of different ales and ciders which need to be tasted!!
