This is now some kind of Indian restaurant and there's quite a few trees that have grown around it since the photo above was taken.

Friendly pub with good beer and some great speedway pictures on the wall.
|
Good honest pub, good range of beers with a slight fenland influence.

Not visually encouraging when approached from the outside, but within this is a pleasant, friendly pub, which has the added benefit of a fine range of ales served on gravity. Definitely worth making the effort to seek out and enjoy.

Good honest Boozer, Great staff and great beer. Well worth a visit. They really try hard so top marks to them

Cracking pub. Looks a bit shabby and a bit naff but quality beer, live music and a landlord that cares about his ale.
Curerntly doing probably the best value breakfasts in Peterborough with a full breakfast for 3.95 with a smaller one for 2.50.
5 mins walk from the market.

Visited this pub last night (28/08/2004). My friend and I were made to feel welcome by staff and customers alike, and none of the previous negative commentaries are true.
I enjoyed two pints of excellent Deuchars IPA on gravity plus half a pint of Roosters Cream Beer. These ales were on such good form that I had a wonderful hoppy taste in my mouth during the short cycle ride back to the station.
I was impressed and will visit again.

Congratulations Steve, a nicely run pub with decent beer.
Beer is a tad expensive but always excellent quality, like the Palmerston all the Real Bears (Cask not Keg) are gravity dispense which means no beer lines to change the taste.
Beer quality - down to Steve Beer Price - down to the Owners.

I found the pub to have a good atmosphere, with great live music, but the pubs best asset has to be Steve the landlord he makes everyone very welcome.

The pub has greatly improved since Christmas after a difficult time with some unwanted customers. those customers no longer frequent the pub and as a consequence the friendly atmoshere has returned. Please visit for yourself. and by all means talk to the landlord on any matters you wish to bring up.

Went here on GBG recommendation. Superb pint of Black Sheep bitter, but oh dear ! The clientele. Rough is not the word. If I'd wanted to have a drink surrounded by neanderthals and druggies effing and blinding at megadecibels, then perhaps the pub could advertised the fact. Perhaps Friday nights are always bad, I don't know and won't be finding out if other nights are an improvement ! Shame.
