Now 'The Botanist' - and no longer a Wetherspoons.
|
Typical Wetherspoons. Better for a group visit than particularly to enjoy beers - though they have an alright selection.
|
Okay Wetherspoon - nothing special, but sound. 6/10.
|
Now the Milson Rhodes, a Wetherspoons pub. Handy for the Metrolink, well kept cask ales. An interesting mix of clientele!

This, it has to be said, is the place to go if you're looking for some class totty. But why o WHY have they stopped selling Stella by the pint??? Lots of people i know drink the stuff so why would it stop? Gutted.

I booked an area in the P&P for my birthday about a month ago now, and had a brilliant night! I invited 30 of my friends who are all bar critics in their own right, and the feedback from everyone was fantastic. It's always worrying when you are in charge of choosing a venue, that it might be a flop, but the P&P staff went out of there way to ensure we had a screamer of a night. It was free to reserve the area which was a good size!!They suggested a range of finger food for the evening that they managed and brought out accordingly throughout the earlier stages of the night, they provided table/area service and were willing to split the bill at the end aswell - which is always a bonus. All in all - great b'day, great venue, great music, great food and for the boys a truly sensational array of fine young ladies! I would really reccomend it to anyone else looking for a great b'day location - I forgot to mention that

Situated just off the main high street where some wonderful pubs such as The Dog and Partridge and The Crown can be found, The Pitcher And Piano bubbles with 'toffness' and serves a wide variety of tastless, bland lagers with attitude. The clientele are somewhat 'toff-like' and live in the illusion that The Pitcher And Piano warrants their custom.
Service is dreadful as are the embarrassingly high prices and upper class atmosphere this bar tries to promote. Still, it's better than Ye Old Cock.

Eye Candy...You Betcha!...Service at the bar isn`t as bad as it may appear from the crowds...& its a pretty friendly place.... lager is the ruler here.

Absolutely awesome night out in this bar if I could bottle an atmosphere, it would be this one. So many fit women and sexy bar staff and such a great bunch of locals and city folk.

The first and the last bar I went in to on Saturday night. Unbelieveable!

Crowded, noisy, and with only 2 urinals for the whole pub, it must have the lowest toilet to punter ratio in the country. Go to the Slug - it's the same pub, but better toilets.

Nice place - It's a shame they spoil it by having the music so loud. It's a pub - not a disco - management take note! As for the racist bits I've read on here - RUBBISH! I see every race, creed and color in the P&P, and I've never seen any color turned away just for being non-white - I've seen non-whites turned away for dressing scruffy or being drunk and trying to enter or being too rowdy...

I was with jonny and another last night. None of us were white. They made us queue and then let 5 caucasians in after us who didn`t queue. How unfair!
