Became famous for a shooting some years ago - said to be drug related.

Brill time in here. Lovely staff, service.clean and fresh. Jolly good show,go.

This is a very plesent little boozer bright and quite smart inside. The picture shown above is a bit missleading as it makes it look dark and dreary. Some quite loud music is playing. They have 6 hand pulls. I try a pint of the Hammerhead Red Hunter for £3.80.

Great place and quite simply the best kept real ales I've had in a very long time!
|
Been here a couple of times, dark and dingy, not one of my favourite places but a reasonable choice of beers - on this occasion tried the Hammerpot Pale Ale which was very pleasant. A lttle slow on the service.

Wrong name, right pub. It's now called The Wick Inn. I only visited the old Biscuit Factory two or three times and hated it! This, I am please to say has change since it changed its name and had a refurb.
It is now the best pub in Hove and is always busy. The punters are of a mixed age range and the place has a really lovely atmosphere. The bar staff are lovely and always helpful. One of the reasons that my mates like the place is because they love the ale selection which changes from week to week and is sourced from Sussex Micro breweries.
The food is great! They serve pizza during the week and a roast on Sunday. I love the pizza, which I have to admit, I probably consume too much. They recently expanded the menu and now serve as well as about 17 others the Autunno. With goats cheese, caramelized onion, walnuts and mozzarella it is in my opinion the best on the menu. I think the secret of a great pizza is the dough and Lazenby's Proper Pizza Company doesn't disappoint! Thin, crispy and freshly pressed. Well worth a visit just for that!
It's also the perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon. They serve an Awesome traditional Sunday roast with perfectly cooked vegetables, loads of meat and a homemade Yorkshire Pud!
The Biscuit Factory is dead, long live The Wick Inn!

this is now called the wick inn

this pub has just been done up and is now called the wick inn. It has a similar feel to the biscuit factory but the refurb has created more room and cleaned it up a bit. Busy with a post-work crowd when i went on a friday evening. Now one of the better pubs in the area.
|
Currently being refurbed and should be re-opening 24/10/07 as The Wick Inn (its old name before it became Nan Tucks and then The Biscuit Factory).
They're completely gutting the place, installing an island bar and new management but keeping the great Thai food that was there before.
Should be a good new pub.. def worth checking out.

LOVE THE PLACE.......! Work colleagues and I are in there every given second! Lunch, after work, come rain, come shine.
Usually on a corner table watching the world go by :)

Great pub, have had small refurb and sorted the toilets out which were previously its worst feature! Never had to wait ages for service unless its mentally busy. Dj's have been really good last couple times I've been there at the weekend and serves some of the best thai food in Brighton!
|
Personally I like the Biscuit Factory, I've never experienced the slow service mentioned previously.
Not sure on the 'TINY' comment. There is the main bar area with seating, and behind it are separate booths for a more cosy atmosphere - plus there is a further bar and seating upstairs.
I will agree that the khasi's are not the best and a mission to get to, that aside I recommend it for a night out

Crap pub. dark and dingy, smelly toilets!
|
If you are lookig for a pub with a personal touch this has a hint of it but sadly it is usually inundated with wanders by for the staff to actually care a hoot but it has a certain je ne sais qua. Good for a Satuday night out and a lot froendlier that some of it neighbouring pubs i.e. Witherspoons Food is not bad the usual menu

not a very atmospheric place...it does take a long time to get a drink...i do not know why...i have been trying to work it out for ages...,maybe its their trademark that they tell bar staff trainees. The motto "be slow to serve then they'll order more at the beggining" i dont know, its a mystery. its a big pub but with lots of variety of people, i would nt go so far as to say stuck up though. I tend to go here only if I have to as this pub closes slightly later than others i think.

Went in this Saturday night with friends. The place was full of large groups of likely lads looking moody and up their own backsides. Toilets flooded and stank. Service slow and staff all looked like they had had enough. Also I have never known a place to get so soked out. Makes your eyes sting - open a window or somthing! Plenty of good pubs around for a night out - can't think of any reason to come back here.

Re: gossip (below) - The shooting was way back in 1991 when this pub was called The Wick. I don't think there have been any such incidents since then.
|
just to gossip... someone got shot there a while ago. gotta love druken lads?
|
At first this place seems like a nice secret haunt, however then you soon discover that the resident drinkers are in fact all very stuck up....not enjoyable....oh and it takes aaaaaaggggggeeeeeeessssss to get a drink, which is surprising as the place is TINY

Slow and steady wins the race, Moonie_No5. The bar staff at the biscuit factory are committed to giving customers value for money, what's wrong with taking a little time to put in that extra special effort?
Excellent thai food, music quiz on mondays and slightly dodgy artwork from time to time.
Yes I do spend too much time there.

Excellent funky music on a Friday. Sometimes get about 8 hen nights in all at the same time before going to The Gap club next door. (Another + for the fellas). Bar staff can be a bit unpredictable and slow - but generally OK.
|
Possibly on here under it's old name, whatever that was. Decent pub with plenty to satisfy ones eye. If a little loud downstairs, especially on a Saturday night, there is always the more subdued environs upstairs. Good music, deep red walls and nice big windows make this a good place to stop off if you are flitting between Brighton and Hove.
