What a choice along here. Biddy Mulligans was too busy - likewise, the Last Drop.
Came in here on a Friday and there was a great singer/guitarist doing requests from printed sheets. People made room to allow us to sit down and soon engaged in conversation.
Apparently, I need to go to St Andrews next time I am north of the border.
After a weekend of drinking great beer - the 80 Shillings in here was far and away my favourite.
Great pub.

A good pub with a decent selection of beers, big beer garden at the rear. Busy though

Beer excellent, service ok. Quite attractive inside, albeit packed with stag parties.

I really like this place. Good beer, good food and its the oldest pub in Edinburgh.

Stinks of chip fat. Or that's what it seems like. Better off with the Last drop, or the Bull.

This pub is a disgrace. Rude doorman, very rude staff - thinks its a wine bar, when its just a run of the mill pub.
Visit Edinburgh, but miss out this hole.

Its the best pub in the grassmarket! Good beers and the best staff.

Really nice bar, traitional feel with a good range of beers and malts. Was impressed by the fact that as the evening darkened they lit candels around the bar and tables creating a nice atmos. Definately worth a visit.

A pretty decent and popular pub on Grassmarket which I would recommend in preference to the Beehive which is close by. Look out for the "Quote of the Day" blackboard behind the bar.
