i like this place, proper traditional, all dark wood and furry bar mats, prices ok, same locals in all the time and seem nice enough. nice building, nice history, good local, a rough diamond!!!

now in the hands of a much younger and livelier couple - paul and sarah, the menu has changed completely and is much better to the previous few years - huge portions and very good value - just a shame its not available in the evenings, there are quiz nights and live music etc through the week and plenty of off road outdoor space out the rear including a covered area for smokers. The pub has also had a fresh lick of paint to spruce the decor up - but still mind the low beams..honey and max will no dont give a welcome to the four legged visitors.

Been there once or twice - one night there was an Elvis impersonator there who was quite good. Anyone over 6' should watch avoid the back bar after a few pints as the ceiling is quite low!
