I understand that Pride is now £4.00 a pint in here. No plans to visit any time soon.

Once the mightiest jewel in Isleworth’s crown, this pub has recently undergone a transformation of monstrous proportion. It’s the decorative equivalent of a war-crime; the likes of the old Royal Oak are on the brink of extinction. It’s akin to finding a rare 1960s’ garage record and then sticking it in a cheap picture frame and hanging it on the wall. It’s analogous to buying a Victorian house and then knocking it down and building a bungalow in its place, just because you liked the lay of the land. It’s like taking 20 years of my drinking life and chucking it on the nearest fire, along with a load of broken pallets and rotting leaves. 10 for what it was, 1 for what it has become – split the difference and rate it a 5.

Nice enough beers and pleasant surroundings, decent food too.
If you're at Twickenham, don't try the shortcut through the sewage works though, unless you've a strong stomach...

Fullers pub located in the backstreets of Isleworth next to a river. On my visit yesterday evening, the front bar seemed very dark and was reasonably quiet despite loud music emanating from a rear room that you could hear outside. There are 4 handpulls that were all clipped with Fullers or Gales beers. But only the London Pride was available. As the previous reviewer states, there is also Aspalls cider. Atmospheric pub. But poor ale range.

We would have given this pub a high rating first impressions were very good. Nice decor, comfortable, friendly service, good beer, Aspall cider (yes, i know its not real, but some of us like it a lot). And we were sorry that the weather did not allow us to take advantage of the garden.
However the signs outside promise food all day, and menus stayed on the tables throughout, with no indication of time restrictions. But when we tried to order food, at 2:20 on a Saturday afternoon, we were told, with no further explanation, that they were not taking food orders. Soon afterwards, we heard other customers complain that they had ordered burgers half an hour ago and were still waiting. Not good enough, so Im afraid the rating drops a few points!

Stumbled on the pub by accident whilst lost in Isleworth. A really nice pub, with very friendly people behind the bar. Great decor, brilliant outside area, nice beer. A really nice pub.

Good pub but it let down by the old barman who is slow & only wants to talk. He is not interested in serving anyone. Get some good barstaff now.

Superb pub well worth seeking out. Interesting decor with lots of nick knacks, some of which are on the ceiling. Nice pint of Pride and a friendly sociable landlord. Easily the nicest pub in Isleworth.

Pleasant building and decor - sometimes spoilt by yobbish teens. Food leaves a lot to be desired.

There is karaoke here now every Sunday 8pm til 10.30pm

Love this pub, been going there for 10 years. Great food, beer, staff and atmosphere. The prices are the same as all the other pubs in the area. I would recommend for anyone looking for a good, friendly pub to visit it.

Been meaning to go back in here as used to come here with my family a long time ago. Not normally one to moan about price but 3.20 for a Stella! Ouch! Place still gets busy at times but not sure why as doesn't have that much going on for it.

I have no problem with cleanliness, but these guys can push it. A clean ashtray after almost every flick. A table wipe after you have put an elbow down. John - i'm not sure when you came in, but try a Friday lunchtime and I bet you won't have any complaints. Apart from these niggling things, it's actually a really nice little boozer (could be better if the drinks weren't SO pricey for a quiet pub in Isleworth).

London Pride was very average last Sunday - I think this pub has changed tenants in the last few months, as there seem to be different faces behind the bar now.
Never very busy seemingly, why is this I wonder ?

Brilliant traditional atmosphere, love it to bits. Had a guest beer on, Davenports, incidentally. A bit slow at clearing away the empties, emptying ashtrays etc. Pub seemed understaffed to me

we visited the royal oak during the notorious summer of 2003 when the skys over london were as dark as when the city was run on coal and it was so hot the trains were running slower to prevent the tracks from overheating.
if there is a better place to down a pint, and then join that distinguished welshman sir richard in a gin & tonic & campari we certainly never found it. the food was fantastic, the well traveled host always ready to freshen a drink and regail you with a story about some past adventure or another - we're going back when in the u.k. again this summer.

Possibly the greatest pub in the world. Go there now and you will be privy to their low ceiling completely covered in fairy lights. The structure itself is a couple hundred years old. I defy you to find a pub in the borough with more character. It's only let down is it's proximity to the local sewage works. Good for: marveling at your surroundings
