Now closed sadly, although the landlord of the nearby Duke of York told me the owners plan to keep it as a pub.

Nice tidy pub closed to the station and town but very limited beer range when I went in- no guiness, cider, smooth or bitter. I don't know if they had run out because they were busy the night before or just rubbish ordering. Worth popping in if on a crawl and half way between Deacon's and the Duke of York.

Well laid-out, spacious pub with a great deal of potential, especially given its location. It's not city centre, but it's within easy reach of the station and is close to the Village and the Malmesbury and an affluent residential area. However - we went in at 8pm on a Tuesday evening and we were the only 2 customers in there. The barmaid was charming and very pleasant to talk to, but the beer wasn't at its best. I had a pint of Courage Best which tasted fine but was unusually cloudy. Maybe the competition from the other nearby pubs, including the Village and Deacons, is just too much.
Worth trying out every now and again, though, especially if you're on a crawl or looking for a quiet pint.

Very nice interior and even nicer beer garden, quite a dull pint of doombar though. What u want is this pub's layout along with the nearby Village Freehouse's beer selection!! 7/10

ITS BEEN TAKEN OVER THE BIRD HAS GONE IT LOOKS REALLY NICE NOW AND THE GARDEN IS GREAT AND THERE IS A FEW MOR STRIGHT PEOPLE IN THERE NOW GIVE IT A TRY ITS STARTING TO LOOK A BIT MORE UP MARKET

Unless you want the most boring time of your life, do not go in to this pub. Was great alternative pub 4 to 5 years ago with great jukebox and when birds flashed their t**s on a tuesday. The only bird you get now is an annoying parrot.

Decent jukebox. Much improved but located on the edge of the city so easily overlooked. Strangely, attracts a good number of single, available girls.

full of young kids dressed in black. weird arcade room out the back. cute dogs.
