Barn sized Wetherspoons where everything is exactly to JDW standards.
Busy. Plenty of beer choice. Cheap. Filthy tables.

One of 5 wetherspoons in Manchester City centre, not a bad place, has a main ground floor and then a small extra level for seating. On the bar they had- Abbot, Doom bar, Robinsons Trooper, Elland 1872 porter, Titanic Captain Smith, Wainwright by Thwaites, JW Lees Game on (and a few others on but I can't recall what they were called). I had a pint of the Captain smith and 1872, both very nice and well kept. On this occasion I only paid 2.45 for each pint as it was their 'Monday Club' special, usually it would have cost 2.89-3.35 so quite pricey. I have learned my lesson about when to go into Wetherspoons pub from now on. Solid enough spot really.

I liked the atmosphere in this Weatherspoons. It was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon but thankfully the queue at the bar did not take long and there was plenty of seating. We started here on a crawl back down towards Didsbury and enjoyed a pint of Titanic Mild. Decent.

Always seem to have a vast selection of real ales which is no bad thing, except for the extra time it takes to make your mind up! Decent prices as with any Wetherspoons, and I've never been disappointed by the ale, always a decent pint and plenty of choice.

One of the best Wetherspoons north of Nottingham. Good beer, fast friendly service, the locals are the usual mixture you get in Wetherspoons. The one bad thing is the wi-fi is a bit hit and miss. When i'm in Manchester i always have breakfast in here.
Called in here last night. Sampled two excellent pints of the Paramount Porter by Elland Brewery. I also sampled an exquisite pint from Saltaire Raspberry Blond - was to die for! I utilized my CAMRA vouchers and got 50p off every pint!
The consistency of the quality of the ales is always bang on, certainly on my frequent visits. Okay it's not got the quirkiness of the nearby Waterhouse, but it is still a good place for a pint or 6!!

Better JDW than the one in Piccadilly. Less crowded on matchdays. Good selection of ales. Staff friendly.
By far the best Wetherspoons I have been to. It is one of the dearer ones but the food, drink, service and atmosphere make up for this. From London, but whenever in Manchester we always come here. All Wetherspoons should use this place as a guide to how to do it properly as there are far too many skanky ones around. Well done to all concerned.
probably the best wetherspoons i've ever been to, first rate ales, service, and breakfast, - if only more of this chain came up to this standard
A decent solid wetherspoons unlike the ones in Piccadilly Gardens and the one on Deansgate that are shambolic and attract "chavs". I rate this one highly with the nearby Waterhouse as my firm favourite whilst in Manchester. The Paramount Porter is simply DELICIOUS!!!
Just recently stumbled upon this wetherspoons by accident. Decided to have the Tuesday steakclub and was NOT dissapointed. Rib Eye steak done to perfection with chips, grilled tomato and garden peas. I asked the young lady behind the bar if it was possible for me to have a guest ale instead of the usual ruddles. She happily oblidged and gave me a fabulous 'paramount porter' from the elland brewery! It really did complement my ribeye steak. RECCOMENDED!!!!!

This is by far the best 'Spoons pub in the city centre and worth a visit. It's well managed, with friendly staff and efficient service. A good choice of well kept beers plus the usual 'Spoons food menu.
They also now do breakfasts from 7am, must admit I call in here quite often for a bacon roll and coffee before work too!

Reasonable corner 'spoons in a modern building, with extra seating at mezzanine level. 10 handpumps, with a decent selection of real ales (e.g. my pint of Lancaster Red, which was well kept at good value at 1.90). The bar staff were efficient too, serving quickly at a busy time and others managing to keep the tables clear and clean.
I know this is a Wetherspoons and yes i would not drink here on a regular basis. Yesterday however came as a complete surprise! Friendly young filly behind the bar who served me straight away, no plates and glasses lying around as is the norm with these pubs and a good range of ales. I had two pints of Paramount Porter from the Elland brewery and no complaints. Best of all it was 6.5% and priced at 1.95, heaven.................................
Standard issue big, modern JDW with a good ale selection - two pints of Green Flash West Coast IPA went down a treat and were in excellent condition befitting a pub with a listing in the 2009 GBG. Would return but this is in no way up there with the best Manchester has to offer.
Fairly average Wetherspoons that was doing a busy trade on our Sunday morning visit. Ruddles Best, Thwaites Bomber, Greene King Abbot Ale, Moorhouses Witch Hunt, Spitting Feathers Smoked Autumn Ale & Basket Case & Titanic Black Ice were the real ales available. When asking for a Black Ice, the barmaid looked a little confused and said they no longer served it. It was pointed out that one of her colleagues was currently pouring a pint. It turned out she was assuming we wanted a Smirnoff Black Ice. It's nice to know the staff know the products they are selling. Real cider was Weston's Marcle Hill.
Standard Spoons with a selection of 4 guest ales available. I had a Phoenix beer which was light and refreshing as described on the clip. Second time i've been and both times its been very busy. Could do with some more bar staff to tidy up at busy times. They have reduced the prices of the real ales to 1.79, so with my 50p voucher, I only paid 1.29, I almost felt guilty.

This is one of the better Wetherspoons around the country. The manager likes to have different real ales on the bar and tries hard to keep these on tap at all times. Even though the place is heaving on a Saturday you can still get served relatively easily. It's a good pint as well. This pub is in the Good Beer Guide for 2009.
Reasonable ale but the one we all went for was badged up but wasn't on,with neither a "sorry not available" or "coming soon". Manager wasn't interested in our disappointment, but why does that surprise me.
One of the better JDW pubs. A good selection of well kept regular beers and imaginative guest ales. Can usually get served quite easily and staff helpful every time I've visited. Food arrives quickly so ideal for a meal prior to plays, concerts, cinema etc.
Quite good for a wetherspoons, ale was of good quality and reasonable food served promptly.
A friend & I meet here on a regular basis and usually spend about 6 or 7 hours having a few pints (5) and a meal. They've made an effort to keep the tables clean; you used to stick to them previously. Generally a good atmosphere with OK Staff. Now that it's No Smoking it's even better. OK place, will keep returning.
Large characterless Wetherspoon's pub. Beer quality OK. Meeting point for stag and hen weekends.
Can get very busy first thing especially on united match days and consequently difficult to get served as there aren't enough staff but the cheap beer and decent food makes up for the wait.
Big and lacking atmosphere. Usually full of groups of drunk girls and townies trying to consume too much cheap ale.
Good for a couple of cheap drinks but don't bother staying for the night - even at the cheap prices.

I like this pub, busy and takes a while to get served but worth it. Handy for gettin some cheap food before going to the gay village!
Decent Pub.Cheap Real Ale and food served 'til 11pm.

Good selection of real ales.
wetherspoon's choice (inc. cocktails) at wetherspoon's prices in the centre of Manchester.good place to start the night. It gives that dump nextdoor a run for its money! Get tanked!
Wetherspoons without the atmosphere. Not a bad place to go with if you're with a lot of people.
Decent beer, but prefer the atmosphere in other Wetherspoons
All depends what you;re after, Cheap drinks, not such a bad environment, but Whenever I'm there it is full of alcholics, and not the nice type either...
this place's very wide and nice!! You can get cheap imported beers, and go upstairs and sit on the comfortable sofas...
