I know I know it's my own fault - I shouldn't even bother with this shithole but just as exceptional service needs to be recognised so does the worse...
CONGRATULATIONS - YOU HAVE THE MOST IGNORANT BAR MAIDS IN LONDON
|
Cash only at this pub. This is one place in Mill Hill where your Black Amex card won't be taken! Then again if you do hold a Black Amex card it's pretty unlikely you'll come in here in the first place.

Standard keg lagers and bitter. It's quite nicely furnished and clean. It's ok to watch Sky football generally. Staff are adequate. The customers are best described as varied. There's no back yard so the smokers gathered at the front door do present an intimidating barrier and I'm sure that loses custom for this place.

The directors bitter served up was high as a kite. 'Sorry mate I don't drink the stuff myself' was the response. The refreshing thing about this place is that at least the barstaff are in tune with their customers. They are both confused!!

Hadn't been to the old Bridge, so thought I would give the new-look version a go when it finally opened. Definitely a place for lager drinkers, because the barmaid didn't have a clue about pouring my pint, and seemed confused when I asked for it in the first place. Very average selection of beers too. Think the best thing to say about it is a 'station pub'. Maybe somewhere to head for a quick pint, but not a place to linger.

Now re-opened and exactly the same as before but with a lick of paint. One occasion where another charity shop on the Broadway would have been welcomed had it opened here instead of resurrecting the premises' previous incarnation.

Good news - It's closed for a refit. Bad news - It's going to open again!

This place shows Sky Sports and has a couple of screens in the main bar area and another in the back room where the dartboard is located. There is no smoking at the rear due to it being an access way for the flats above, so a group of bedraggled old soaks are usually standing at the entrance puffing away making this place seem very unwelcoming. Looks can be deceiving, but in this case you would be correct in assuming that this is an inferior pub with a miserable uncultured crowd.
The barmaid was having a cigarette out the front and I had to wait a few minutes to be served even though she had to move out of my way as I walked in. I shouldnt have bothered wasting my time as she was far from nice and the standard selection of draught didnt feel me with glee.
To sum up, this place is a squalid pit that serves little more than keeping the bottom feeders away from the other pubs in the area.

It's best to pretend there ISN'T a pub by the station.

picture says it all. Bloke outside rolling one up, kids stuck out on the road, dad inside giving it large to an easily impressed collection of hoodies and gangstas. Trains above drown out the atmosphere such as it is - pub is a stagger from the dole office around the corner, where most locals shuttle between. bang next to an M & S, so not a bad place to get cheap goods for the microwave, nudge, nudge...
|
Not so nice. A few too many ciderheads and minor league villains shuffling about in the murk and gloom.
|
I used to stop off for a pint if I had just missed a train as it's handy for the station but NOW.... I would rather buy a can or a bottle from Marks and drink it on the station platform - it's a much pleasanter environment.

after a few landlords recently nothing much has changed, a bit smokey, dark and dingy.. could do with a refit. 2 tv's for live football, new dartboard, 2 fruities and a snooker general knowledge game. some nights it has a very charming feel to it.

this place is great, my first local. nice landlady and landlord, fairly priced drinks, TV, Darts and some funny old men who never seem to leave, ever! always good for a swift half before catching the train to london

A great little place: friendly staff and the best and cheepest pint in Mill Hill.

Used to have the odd pint here waiting for the train having played football. Doesn't look much from the outside and in all honesty it's not much better inside. However, I used to find it friendly, footie on the telly and full of locals. Like it for the odd drink.

Fairly small pub, dartboard towards the back. Landlady and husband good, honest people - there's usually a cheap guest beer which is always worth sampling up to the gallon point. Curious mix of young and old people there: small screen footy and music never too loud. They don't make 'em like this any more.

Used to use it a lot when I was waiting for a train (Mill Hill across the road.)
not very friendly, slightly seedy atmosphere, some very dodgy lookin' geezers...Avoid.
