A great find in an unpromising area. Suddenly appears coming round the bend from Queenstown Rd station and dominates a corner spot. The inside is farily traditional with the odd quirky bit, and ales in good form. Well worth a visit and looking at the reviews below wishing I'd had a burger!

I concur: the burgers are awesome although I did have slight food envy when my girlfriend's roast lamb arrived. We did the quiz on Sunday night and, despite coming second, had a great time. I'll go again for sure. don't often see old peculiar in pubs either so this was a nice suprise.

I think that rating about this pub being dull is completely wrong. We went in for food on Saturday night (really, really good), and they had live music and the place was really buzzing. I personally loved it and now I've moved to the area this will definitely be my new local.

This place is having a tart up by the looks of things. Comfy, nice beers and the best burger i have literelly ever eaten!
|
I found this place to be dull, bland and characterless. Someone had ordered a coffee just as i arrived so i had to wait ages until being served with a beer. If you want a cup of coffee then go to starbucks and leave the pubs to people who want to drink alcohol. Dreadful place with constant traffic thundering past right outside the door. Awful.

It's a delight to go into a pub where the landlords really know what they are doing. They've created an oasis of pubdom in the desert of pubdom that is Battersea. What do you want in a pub? Friendly attractive staff: tick; good well kept beer: tick; excellent atmosphere/mix of locals; tick, well-priced and well-cooked food: tick; pub dog and interesting events: tick. If you're in the area visit it.

Excellent pub with with an excellent staff. The Landlord has built strong roots in the community making it a local for all age groups and backgrounds while the kitchen turns out simple, delicious and very reasonably priced pub food.
The special events (xmas party pub birthday and whatnot) are legendary as are the Elvis nights. I only wish I was able to go more.

Revisited this pub yesterday And pleased to say it's even better than my last posting. Battersea's best kept secrect.

Visited this pub on Friday evening, good range of beers kept in first class condition. Food menu varied and of good fresh produce. Highly recommend this for a great meal.

I go to the Victoria nearly every Sunday for food and the quiz and it is nearly always busy with people eating because the Sunday roast is so damn good! I think it's a good all round pub and I'm glad I live not too far away.
|
Every time I've been there (which has been mostly on a Sunday) there's been far too many kids, too many people eating food and when the football's been on it's dominated horribley with volume often turned up to almost ugly levels. Yet the staff are polite and it has an atmosphere of sorts. A bit average over all. Good for: passing through early evening.

Great pub in a great location. Bar staff are super-friendly, excellent choice of beers and a friendly pub dog - relaly couldn't ask for much more

I love The Victoria. It has wicked food every day and night, real ales with a weekly guest ale, coffee, sport, papers, sofas, non-smoking section, outside tables, pool...what more could you want? Oh yes,a dog, a Sunday quiz, efficient-as-well-as-hot bar staff, and hopefully soon a late licence (appeal pending).

Good food menu and some real ale without being too trendy . Considering the mix of horribilia and trendiness around this area the Victoria scores.

Sorry correction! my last comment should say ISN'T trying to be pretentious or trendy!! Sorry if my post confused everyone!
|
As with the last posting by Pen this is a great pub that is trying to be pretentious & trendy. Good mix of locals & newcomers to the area a variety of different theme nights and the grub served up is good. Landed on my feet with this local, absolute tops!

This pub is great - we live really close by and it's always a great place to drop in for an after work beer or spend a lazy Sunday arvo with mates, enjoying the fantastic roast lunch. The decor is really nice, but not so 'trendy' that doesn't still feel like a good local pub.

I love this pub. A good mix of young trendy types & locals in a relaxed atmosphere. Pool table & various entertainment nights are a bonus, but even when it's busy there always seems to be space to sit back for a no hassle beer. I'd highly recommend it.

I can echo the last comment - this pub used to be a real s**thole, that the brewery (S+N) was never interested in. This just shows what can be done to turn around a bad pub - now good, usually relaxed atmosphere, and good food - well worth a visit

I have just moved to London from Australia and have found a pub near my flat called the Victoria. It is probably one of the best pubs I have been too in my life... literally. Apparently it used to be a really run down dump of a pub, but then an english couple bought it and completely refurbished the place. It is now a very classy pub which has friendly staff, great music and great food. Apparently in the first month of opening they were placed number 3 in the number of sales within a particular zone of London (don't ask which). Anyway, to cut a long story short... this pub is tops. When you have time go and check it out.
