A remember watching the 2002 World Cup (but this year 2006) its was at the Market Tavern. Cany understand why all the new developes of Alty have not taken this over. What is the point of building a flash new opening for the shopping area and leaving this wreck

Do something with this place before it ends up having to be bulldozed, this was a great place to watch footie in, otherwise...some of the crowd think it's all over,it is now

Someone open this for the World Cup Please!!!!
|
right, will somebody please do something with this place, they just knocked down half of alty to turn into some space age "mall" , bloody hate the americanisms we are having thrust upon us. dont get a licience, just buy it and stick a cage in there, worlds first BYOB UFC pub ! gurenteed money spinner

I loved this Pub and i still do. The one good thing is that as yet???, its not been turned into one of alty's endless, boring, expensive, mind numbing, scallie inviting, waste of air wine bars!! Its part of History and maybe its better to stay that way. Whatever we hope, it will never ever be that place that we stood at the most god awful hour having lager for brekkie and watching that goofy b*stard lob seamen from 40 yards!

Will somebody please buy this bad boy. This was alty's best pub for watching footy. I have fond memories of world cup 2002(6am - 11.59pm beer sessions). It was also a good pool pub and was the home of the merit pool champion 2000. The atmosphere on 26th May 1999 and 1st September 2001 were the stuff of legends. SO I WILL SAY IT AGAIN.....SOMEBODY BUY IT OPEN IT AND CALL IT 'THE DOLLY DAGGER' IS RESPECT OF THE LATE GREAT JIMI HENDRIX. rock n roll

Great pub, shame the landlord did a "runner". Always welcomed the footie fans and showed the "dodgy" channels to get Premiership footie on a Saturday afternoon, with lock-ins to ensure it didn't get too packed. Hopefully it'll reopen as a pub soon

This bar is closed, with a 'for sale' sign above the door. If it were open it'd be in a fantastic location just opposite the bus/train/metro station.
