Closed, and currently half demolished. According to hoardings, to be replaced by retirement homes (well, this is Bournemouth, on the coast)

A real shame this place has closed down - still, at least we'll now be spared people moaning about going in and (gasp) finding some dogs in there. Apparently (shock horror) some people take dogs for walks and then want to go to the pub straight after. And, annoying as it might seem to some moaning bastards, some landlords recognise, accept and embrace this fact.

Just been to the auction (didn't win anything much), even the newish upper deck restaurant (contents only) obviously, interestingly to look around the kitchens etc., but very depressing to an end of era - been going to the grange since the late 80's!!

The Grange will close on the 6th April, to let everyone know. Another good pub lost!!
Lovely beer - but, took a friend to the cleanest pub on the sea front, only to be choked by the smell of dog......farts. What a pity
Its a nice pub with a good few beers and ciders.
This must be the cleanest pub in the area. The 'ladies' was spotless - and always is. Nicely kept beer. A good pub to walk to.
sorry I did not see the ''K'' in ''Dorsetknob''
Spot on Triker,If Knob does not like dog,s go elsewhere
''Dorsetnob'' does not like dogs that it's obvious so why do you bother going there knowing its a dog friendly pub which is nice and it's a tradition which goes back hundreds of years so let's keep it that way!! as for you ''dorsetnob'' if you were buried under 5 feet of snow up some mounting, and you felt a 10 stone rescue dog sniffing at your ''nob'' I think you might just change your mind about our four-legged friends??
Great news - NO SMELLY DOGS IN THE BAR TONIGHT.
Recently visited The Grange and saw an excellent band called Streetlife - played authentic covers from the 60's up to the present - connected well with the audience - well worth a listen if you like live music. Pub was lively and packed - drinks a tad expensive though. Staff a bit dour but probably because they are overworked and underpaid. Overall atmosphere good. Will visit again.

Visted on the 11th August and had food. Very cheap and very tasty! Beer good too.
Went in last sunday, 14 customers and 8 dogs, I thought I was going to loose a leg on my way to the gents, Nice new restaurant upstairs, pleasant outside seating area up their although taken over by the smoking brigade.

Some times take up mum (86) in there for lunch. Bargain food. Ales include Ringwood Old Thumper (plus 49er and Best).
Nice spot, but tired and dull.
Full of divorced pensioner trying to pull again.Still have Karoke and that crap with would be Robbie Williams and Celine Dions(earplugs provided)Set in a nice location on the cliff tops it is nice on a warm day to havbe a drink outside
speaking as a local It,s a good pub good beers nice location. If you don,t like dogs give it a miss,no kids in bar-
A nice refit, apart from the plastic flower displays and canned music. Please ban the smelly dogs and their owners! Why not appoint a pub cat or cats instead. Very capable and welcoming staff. The beer garden is a good spot to watch the local Kestrel hunting.
Full of blue rinse brigade trying to pull one another.Live music and a bit drab
Fantastic middle age pickup joint on Fridays and Saturdays.
I really love the authentic 70's feeling to this place.
Excellent for a drink off the beach.
Older crowd.
The real ales are Cask-Marqued, but they could improve a bit here ... maybe they could get some more varied and better real ales in.
Loud live music on Fridays and Saturdays with bands doing covers, not original music.

Great summer pub... Am a regular so know it well. Drinks are expensive and sometimes crap, Cask Marque often displayed so at least you know when your going to get a good pint. BBQ in the summer - Should be used all year round as the food isn't great, bands are excellent! Not a fashional modern pub, I think this could be down to the tanned owner (silver fox often sits in the corner). The greek bar manager is a character as is surfer dude! Women could be happier but hey guaranteed to be under paid. Summer rating 9/10 - Winter rating 4/10

This is a good place to see some of the top local bands like Total Recall and Alchemy but it could be better if the bands were not constantly told to "turn it down" and the beer was not so extortionately expensive. Advice - Take your own bottles but don't get caught!

The Grange does put on some good entertainment, even if the beer is too pricey. Recently there was Backbeat with Joe Bower (once the drummer with the Fourmost). They are a first class 1960's band. Joe who I know told me that they get 30 each, and Bournemouth pubs are tight. Because the beer is expensive they could pay the bands more for a Saturday night.

I discovered this pub a year or so ago and at first thought it should be called 'The Hotel Strange', mainly because of the mix of clientale. However, it is now my favourite place, especially in the summer as the sun stays on the beer garden late into the evening. There are beautiful uninterupted views of the sea, plenty of outside space to sit and the mood is happy and relaxed. Great!

WHAT A RIPPOFF?THE RUSSIAN BARMAID LOOKED LIKE SHE DIDNT WANT TO BE THERE ..I WONDER HOW MUCH SHE GETS PAYED PER HOUR??? THE PLACE LOOKS LIKE IT HASENT CHANGED SINCE THE SEVENTIES?IF IT WASNT OPPOSITE THE SEA IT WOULD HAVE GONE TO THE DOGS YEARS AGO .HOW CAN THE LOCALS AFFORD TO DRINK IN THIS RIPOFF JOINT .

By the way, the Grange is a recomended place on other sites for welcoming dogs. This is very rare, as most places do not like them - and that is because dogs do not spend money at the bar. I have seen men take their dogs to the Grange for a pint. I bet you, that they had told their wives, that they indended to take Rover for a peaceful stroll along the clifftop.

This pub is brilliant in the summer, live music, big beer garden facing the sea, cant go wrong. Good range of beers and nice staff, also a late hotel lisence. Actually the pub is great but not if you dont like dogs, you maybe supping your beer one minute then having your crotch snuffled by a shitsu, if you are an keen dog lover then this might be just down your alley!

The Grange, has one advantage over the other establishments on the cliff. It has a large garden in the front, so you can drink and look at the sea. Inside the Grange has the usual Ringwood ales, and the service is friendly. The trouble is that the inside can get very hot in the summer. What they do then, is to open up the sliding doors as there is no air conditioning. All that they have are fans which are not enough to do the job. Another problem, is that being a big place they hold functions. This means that it is possible to get mixed up in a wedding party.

This is a well establised pub on a cliff with fine sea views.
