Why is this still listed here, it's pub history? It's now the Florence. Tidy this listing up please.

Well, jharryj, I'm afraid you're wrong for they do indeed dispense, and even brew, real ale on the premises. They brew a v. good beer called Weasel - citrussy and hoppy. Alongside that they've got Adnams Explorer and Broadside, Maredsous Blond, Aspalls Cyder, Meantime IPA and Erdinger (the only lager was Budvar). And there's a fair selection of bottled beers in the fridge if none of those take your fancy.
It's a huge place - smarter than your average gastropub, no knick-nacks and battered sofas - so there's plenty of room (particularly liked the booth-style seating arrangements by the front windows) with an enormous garden patio area out back and a conservatory area too. Pretty good food too (mains are between the 6-9 mark). Only (small) downside is that it inevitably attracts the 3-wheel buggy brigade though they tended to stay in the more restauranty area out back.
All in all, well worth a look.

Now called "Florence"! Looking from the outside, a cafe/bar, lots of chrome, could see no real ale. Try the Commercial to the rear.

This pub is now called Ganley's, which is also listed separately on this site. Irish theme decor, serves steaks, etc. Lots of plasma TV screens for sport. Many sports/football feeds. Little pricey for the area I think, but good beer in a clean pub. Not much atmos on my Saturday daytime visits.

Decent Irish-theme refurb, clean and pretty friendly with two big screen TVs. Spacious, good guinness too. Herne Hill must be looking up.

Hey this pub has been done up now. Done out in irish way but not really tacky irish theme pub. Though does play tapes of irish comedians in the bogs. Very nice and clean inside and good seats even seating outside. Guinness is top notch. Highly recommend. Oh yea good sunday roast as well.

Cheap beer, good food, big screen TVs - often showing Setanta sports channel. Underlying threatening atmosphere, more welcoming to an Irish accent, but worth a visit. Staff varied - sometimes excellant other times slow and uninterested.

Best pub in the Herne Hill area. Well priced drinks, pretty good food. Punters can look a bit rough but generally they're OK. Wouldn't recommend using a card for payment/cash back. My friends 20 cash back has now been charged about 3 or 4 times.

The food is lovely, and the beer is fine. But the staff aren't great, and the punters look dangerous. Not a place for people with weak hearts...
