Been in there a few times but quite a while ago. The live bands were cool - playing Metallica. I seemed to recall they did kareoke but not sure if that's still the case.
Predominantly more of a young crowd go in there.
Drinks are reasonable. Nothing out of this world but its ok.

Its ok. Big, clamourous place - favoured by the younger crowd (though largely confined to the second bar). Was a live covers band playing when I was last there. The lead singer blatantly didn't know the words to 'Vertigo'. Pub singing at its best - Vic Reeves would have been proud.

Most Friday's and Saturdays its live music at the Lord Napier with some of Essex's top bands incl: Expose, East of Java and Undercover in this large pub. Cheap beer, friendly staff and guvnor Tom adds a lovely touch of Irishness to the pub with a hearty smile and a good sense of humour.

This is an ideal pub for those who loke myself enjoy live bands> Though only on Saturdays. Thereis only Tetley bitter available on draught, though IT IS INEXPENSIVE!. There are large screens for sports coverage too. Convenient for trains and buses.

the lord napier- well it is a good pub but it has been known for trouble in the past and also for drug problems. But the beers good, the staff are friendly and the landlord is more than happy to have a pint and a chat!

Well,What can I say,Before Christmas this pub was due to be demolished early in the new year,on my last visit,i found a team of painters painting the outside and the pub is only partly open,Yes You've guessed it,The Lord Napier is undergoing a major refurbishment, they told me over the bar that the pub had not been bought out and the pub's owners Spirit Group, had decieded to spend some money on it,Staff told me that their company would not be spending so much money on the pub if it were due for demolition.
LOOKS LIKE THE LORD NAPIER IS HERE TO STAY !!!!.
RE-OPENING DATE April 1st !. Why not pay them a visit on or shortly after this date I SHURE WILL !!!.

this public house is not closing down and will not be knocked down as some people say it is a listed building and provides a good local meeting place for all ages

Just to let you all know that this pub is shutting down soon. It's been bought out and will be knocked down and replaced with flats. This will apparently happen early in the new year.

Good Mr Qs pub on Green Lane Goodmayes, cheap beer and reasonable staff, live bands on a Saturday night with less people than the Cauliflower, which makes the pub less crowded and more enjoyable.
in the Mr Qs area in the back there is a Sattilite Video Jukebox but it is awkward to get to because there is a pool table positioned right in front of it,the pub originally had three pool tables when it first became a Mr Qs and this area in front of the jukebox was clear but the mamagement decieded to cram an extra pool table in front of the jukebox area and this makes it very difficult for oneself to select their favourite songs/videos onb the jukebox whilst this particular pool table is in use by other customers.
