Visited this pub last Friday before nearby football. I think three ales were on, I had the "Prince of Wales Best Bitter" which was Caledonian House Ale (4.1%) badged for the pub, tasted good, and only £2.90. Another Caledonian beer was also available.
Two rooms and bars with locals chatting in each. Doing reasonable business at 7pm on a Friday. Front bar has a dart board and juke box. Various "seasonal" rugby decorations adorning the place. Blackboard indicated a quiz night and an upcoming mystic/seance evening (ooer....).
Recommended.

I quite liked this pub. It`s a traditional freehouse outside of Ilford town centre. A friendly welcome is offered. Although some of the locals seemed a little strange. There are a couple of rooms and pub grub is served. Beers on were Holts Two Hoots, Greene King Abbot, Youngs Bitter & Wychwood Hobgoblin. One of the better pubs we tried in the East End yesterday.

Decent, traditional pub. Friendly welcome and good service. The ales are well-kept and reasonably priced. I didn't try the food, but it looked promising. A hard to find proper pub. Well worth a visit.

Best pub Ilford bar none. Normally 6 ales on in decent nick - especially the Youngs Ordinary. Well done Dave!

This is the Second time I Have had to write a message about this fabulous Pub,it is without doubt, one of the best in London.
As Ever,Very friendy and Attentive Barmaids See to a customer's evey need,Such as turnng up the Jukebox when one puts money in and Chooses from a selection of over 30,000 songs-in fact this Digital Touchscreen Jukebox allows you to choose any top 40 song going back to 1952.
You can always guarantee to find a warm welcome from staff and regulars alike. A friendly atmosphere awaits anyone who goes there. The recent improvements to this pub are great and the beer garden is out of this world! Get down there and see for yourself!!

This used to be my local for many years. Sadly no longer.
I was in there just the other day (after three years absense). I was so plased to discover the magic remains.
Easily the best pub I've ever been in. A true (and diverse) communinity spirit, excellent service, and fantastic beer.
The purists choice.
P.S. Just for the record (okay, it was seven years ago), I had the best Sunday Roast I've ever had - sorry Mum. Two courses and only a fiver.

This is my local and possibly the greatest pub in the world!! Here are 10 reasons why;
1. They have a juke box which plays things from Oasis to Bob Marley to Deftones! 2. They have a plasma screen outside so in the summer you can stand or sit in the sun and watch the football 3. They have an outside pool table 4. They have a dartboard 5. They have a quiz machine 6. They have 2 dogs who are very friendly and beautiful 7. As soon as I walk in there is a pint on the go for me and a cheery hello. 8. They have a quiz night which they run for charity 9. It's a West Ham pub although you wont be treated different if you dont support the Hammers (but i do) 10. It's a proper local where you can have a great night with friends or chatting to the other locals.

Visited in December and again yesterday, both times the beer was excellent, atmosphere quiet but welcoming, whilst my friend really appreciated the ever available tea and coffee. Food looked good too. Large car park. Outdoor seating areas, (useful for us smokers post July) coming on well.

Yes.This is not a bad pub.A down to earth basic two bar boozer with a very friendly barmaid. On top of that, the best pint of Young's ordinary that I have had for many a year.Give this one a try.

This pub has got to be the best around by far. You can always guarantee to find a warm welcome from staff and regulars alike. A friendly atmosphere awaits anyone who goes there. The recent improvements to this pub are great and the beer garden is out of this world! Get down there and see for yourself!!

For years I lived a couple of streets away from this pub and never really drank there often. During the world cup I was told that they had a screen in the garden so thought i'd give it another try. To my suprise the dingy garden of old has been transformed into what i'd describe as the best in town. I had a great time, the barstaff are always pleasant and they have as good selection of music on digital juke boxes. The new owners done a really good job on it.

It is a bit dog eared but I like this pub. The beer is always on form and the service is pretty good. I've never eaten there. Because it's away from the centre of Ilford, it's rather low-key, which I happen to like.

This was once a very lovely pub. I've been drinking in it for 14 years along with many other regulars.
It seems every time I go there now, the deterioration shows more and more. This place has not seen a paint brush or new carpets or been re-upholsterd for 8 whole years and my goodness it shows!
I feel this is a great shame, as there is such a sense of community in this pub. I hope the brewery start pumping some money into it soon because the punters are fading fast, Nobody wants to drink or eat in a run down filthy pub do they?
Maybe the brewery want an excuse to sell it off to property developers, maybe not. I can't think of any other reason to let a perfectly decent pub get into this state.
