Preston Brewery Tap, Brightonback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Hi there, I'm the current landlady at the Tap. We have a new bar billiards table now and would like to get a team together. If anyone is interested just let me know!

No bar billiards anymore since the privately-owned table got vandalized. Fond memories though of visiting here with the Redhill team: we got hammered, but where else can you witness girls snogging each others faces off in the pool room?

Poor attitude and unhelpful staff

Adrians review was obviously done many years ago, as its most ''un''-smokey given the smoking ban, and there certainly isn't any hard looking teenagers faffing about?!!
Since mid-2008 a new landlord has been rescuing this pub and the decor is undergoing a thorough makeover. A stage area has been furnished and local band has already taken advantage of the venue. New bar staff and an excellent choice of Beer and Ale's makes this pub worth the visit. I was greeted with a warm smile and freindly atmosphere. The new landlord also owns a very succesful pub in Hanover, although it attracts a very different group of punters, I expect the Preston Brewery Tap to succeed within its own local area for late twenty to thirties.

I don't know what the decor used to be like, but it appears to have been "done up" and seems rather characterless. I tried the Harvey's which was very lively but, once it had settled, tasted OK. There were two other real ales available. I would pop in again if I was passing, but would not go out of my way.

Located on the main London to Brighton Road. A popular pub for Brighton & Hove Albion fans. Very sports orientated with Bar Billiard and Pool teams.

Well, since Adrian's informative comment a long time ago, I can tell you that the place has changed. Although the decor certainly hasn't, it's due for a refit very very soon. The Landlord told me that the bartop (a dodgy copper affair) had been there since 1970-something, so he was more than please to get shot of it.
The beer is nice, not overpriced at all, considering the other pubs around this area (Park View, Crown & Anchor etc) are around the same price. Not seen the hard looking teenagers frequenting this place, but the people there seem friendly enough.

Very smoky, populated by hard looking teenagers and beer overpriced, even for Brighton!
