Could not even begin to work this place out. looks ok food looked ok but the whole pub smelt of chip fat. poor ale but not sure if that was the taste of the ale or the chip fat!!!!

oh dear, what is this pub about, full of drunk idiots. not very welcoming at all
|
Appears to be where the drop outs go! Not inviting at all!
|
Was rubbish with local dropouts and low lifes, then got really good but is now just tottering a long minding its own business. Still in the top few pubs in Albert Rd though.
|
Deserves a re-rating after the refurbishment, which has got rid of the dingyness of the place. Now has live music at weekends, and seems to have got a lot busier as word has got round.

The customers haven't changed - the usual Southsea mix of students and alcoholic locals. Good jukebox, is indeed handy for the Wedge. It just lacks something - maybe I'm an old git who used to drink in there before it had a silly makeover about 10 years ago. Part of the problem is that it looks as if the money to finish the job ran out and it feels a bit bare. I prefer the Leopold over the road now, which feels more welcoming.

Cosy, with pool table and a decent jukebox. Handy if you're going to a gig at the Wedgewood Rooms (20 metres down the road.

Nice for a drink before going to the Wedgewood Rooms, I hope it's still open. They used to have a hexagonal pool table.
