Re: review below Yep, the pub is now called the Bear

Closed for a well-deserved refurb. All signage has been removed so it could be possibly re-named as well.

visiting the snooker we went here first in 2004. That time it was a good pub with nice food. From 2005 it went down the drain. rowdy noisy pub and a complete shambles. never gone there again. Even the whetherspoon next door is an oasis compared with this joint!

Trying to be a Wetherspoon with all the fancy offers. A hell-hole to be truthful. Thanks to this place, the JJ Moons next door can't let you in after 11pm - the rough crowd all seem to pile into JJ's after 10.50pm!

Phone ahead before you bother to visit to: a: Check they are open, b: Check that they have any draught beer on tap, and c: Check that there are no fights in progress.

The governor needs a kick in the buttocks for not providing the draught beer regularly, which the locals have become used to!

Better known as a post office to us locals but yet has turned out to be a reasonable drinking establishment with a good selection of ale's but that is what all good conversions have turned out to be. Good food on offer.

A Barracuda Pub. Beautifully done up as a pub. (I bought stamps here when I was a lad.) A 36 metre long, "G" shaped bar, with plenty of nooks and crannies to get away from the crowd. Two TV screens, Karaoke Thursday, Disco Saturday and Live music Sunday, nights. Happy hour all Monday, Fosters, John Smiths and Guinness all 1.20 a pint. Draught Courage Best only 1.45 a pint all the time. Great staff, super food and great company at the bar.
