They only lasted 6 months? Oh dear. I wonder what's next for the William IV?

I for one shall be sorry to see Darren and Frank leave but on speaking to them their new venture suits them perfectly..

I'd imagine that Frank and Darren - being professionals running a pub in lovely N9 - have thicker skins than you give them credit for, london-drinker.
Being "deeply hurt" by things like my tame opinions regarding the atmosphere wouldn't stand them in good stead now, would it?

been a local in here since i was a child with my grandad must say havent seen t this busy in years. In reply to below comment i have seen the kitchen or what is left of it planner_21 hasnt a clue . there are now ales on and the staff are friendly if Frank or Darren saw below comment they would be deeply hurt. The prices have been adjusted and the entertainment is grand

...and in contrast to the below praise, all I can say this is pub has taken an unfortunate turn for the worse.
For a start, there is no more pool, or food or ale. The friendly atmosphere has simply gone.
The "old landlady" managed to get rid of the ne'er-do-wells (or they simply didn't go there while she was in charge) but they seem to be slowly creeping back now.
You can still have a pint there in relative peace, but frankly it's not worth the effort. What a pity.

fantastic pub now that new owners have taken over. good riddance to the old landlady. the father and son running it now are so friendly and really know how to run a traditional english pub.
beer is great fantastic atmosphere, the locals are great and the dukebox is always a hit.
well priced beer, no pool tables now but who needs that as the rest of the pub is well deserved of people trying it out.
good luck Frank.

Really frinendly staff and a mixed crowd of locals. Pool tables upstairs and (as said by 1epal) good food, too.
Maybe a bit tatty (some small windows broken) but still great! Best pub in Edmonton.

Nice pub, Wednesday nights are international food nights. Delicious food done in tapas style at very reasonable prices (1 - 3 per portion). Friendly bar staff. A few real ales would make this pub perfect.

New management in 2006 have made this the best pub in the area (which isn't saying a lot I guess). Mixed crowd, friendly service, good food, no hassle.
Its so easy to do, so how come other pubs seem to find it so difficult?

Nice pub with character on the main road. Slightly old-fashioned but always a pleasant environment. Barstaff and punters tend to be friendly and welcoming. Beers are good and reasonably priced depending on current offers. Quite a good atmosphere when football's on or at weekends, nice place for a quiet half hour away from the worries of the world with a pint at others. Don't go out of your way to visit but if you are passing, it's worth dropping in.
