worst thing that ever happened to this pub was its conversion from an Irish to a polish venue. Backfired because now they all go to the Tune Inn and the Irish have found somewhere better.
used to be a good Karaoke place but even that was rubbish when we last went in, the girl was more interested in pretending to be a DJ and playing incessant noise rather that calling up the people that had put songs in.
I guess its the old "you pay peanuts..." Come on Gerry you can do better than that.

I walked into the public bar and waited for a few minutes for some service and was about to give up when one of the two old gentlemen sitting down told me to knock on the bar to get the barmaids attention. They explained that there was another bar, so as I wasnt going to play on the pool table I decided to walk around and try my luck in the other bar. As I entered I realised that this wasnt the poky little one bar old mans boozer that I thought it was and that it was a large pub with plasmas and dance music that is open until 1am at the weekends.

When I did eventually find her the barmaid was very nice. Pride and Trafalgar were the ale offerings, but the Trafalgar was on the turn. Standard lagers were also available along with Hoegarden and Tyskie.

Im not sure that Id go out of my way to drink here, but its always handy to know a pub that is open late at the weekends.

WOW! I cant recommend this pub enough. Best place in Acton IMO.
The barstaff are top notch, the lasses behind the bar aren't too bad to look at. They now serve continental beers from across the contintent and they have a VIP cocktail lounge at the back of the pub.
It has a cosmipolitan vibe to the place now, and I dont understand why anyone would want to go anywhere else in acton...?....and did I mention the kareoke?!
If you haven't been down there recently, check it out!!!

It's clean and the beer's good so will do for a pint if you dont mind being served by the Scowlski sisters, who communicate solely through the medium of scowls.

I used to drink in here when I was still a puppy. Pretty decent for an inexpensive night out in dingy Acton. The management can be quite rude on occasion, but is generally a decent night out.

Busy with Polish now- Acton is Little Warsaw though. Could be worse.

Does anyone know if Laurel & Cos do the karaoke in here anymore?

in this pub most days normally in the pool bar
i do like this pub very pleasent customers and bar staff can be ok depends on their mood.
weekend karaoke with mandy and richard can be a laugh but normally alot better with cos and laurel.
food not up to much and would reccomend drinking out of bottles not the tap, as there was a nasty rumour pints were slops from the drip trays. dont want to chance it know what i mean.
all in all though very nice

Not a bad pub, have visited it on a few occasions, has everything I want in a pub too... it's the only pub I know in my local area that does!

The back bit used to be a dark, dingy sort of place with a lot of charm. Now it's bright and clean and more like McDonalds. They've put in a skylight which is fine but there's far too much light coming in to be able to see the TV screen. They need to put in some sort of shutter contraption so they can cover the skylight when there's a match on. I'd only go to see games in the evening now because of this. The staff, pretty Polish girls mainly, are incredibly efficient and friendly. The food is good value. The front bar is fairly small but quite good for watching footy as they can show different games at the same time on various screens.

Got good memories of this one!! Used to go to karaoke on a Friday night while I was living over there (96-98 back in Aus now) I ended up marrying the karaoke host!

Murphy1 here - well what can I say about the Windmill-the choice of drinks are fantastic the atmosphere is also very enjoyable. Alittle expensive but you can tell all the profits are pumped back in to the Windmill!! My tip is to go there on a weekend and get the cocktail barman "Gerry" to mix you his world famous 'Singapore Sling' Mmmmm delightful!!

Huge TV screen. Ideal for watching sport.

I dont liek the front bar, but I have had fun in the huge backroom, which never seems to close. Which bumps up the pub's rating by miles.

Pool area with TV and wooden floors - good. Other bit - "What you lookin at mate!" I wouldn't bother although I did have a rather pleasant time there myself.
Good for: Friday evening playing pool.

Fake beams and scary people playing pool, had some of the worst beer ever in here but they did change it. Not a bad place to watch the football though.
