Now re-opened as BED. Another venue bar on the town centre crawl. No real ale.

Pub is currently closed. It was changed to Muse Bar and is now advertising itself as Poppys Lounge - opening soon - but that was several months ago.

Binge-drinkers bar on the alcopops strip of Friar Street.
One for the discerning drinker to give a wide berth to.

i lost my 'smart phone' stylus here which probably says more about me than the bar... the staff are lovely and all i can remember (apart from losing my sad little pen) is wandering out far far later than expected!

Nothing bar that once played 21 seconds for Chops birthday

Well what can i say does anyone ever go in there ? it always seems empty or full of chavs !!!

What a hole. I seem to recall this place was the start point for a 300 man street-brawl when I was living in Reading. Seems pretty appropriate. Was probly a riot over the beer prices. Everyone in there is on the dole or has recently returned from a spell at her majesty's pleasure. Note 'review' from Tania. Trance, dance and robots. Constituent parts of my ideal night.....

Varsity used to be Barracuda moron
Bar Four is still open. Not to bad but wouldnt go back as too over priced.

Bar foreclosed? Not a shame at all - food was rubbish and everything else was so bland there are words not dull enough to describe it. Varsity now occupies the space and market for its clientele. Changing the name and the carpet does not alter this place near enough for me to make it a regular haunt...

Bar forgotten. Instantly.

A very freindly pub with pleasent staff and the new manager is a nice chap who went out of his way to make us feel welcome, went on a quite night and had mainly groups of women and a few gents in suits, but it gets very busy on Friday and Saturday evenings, when they have a DJ and a real party atmosphere. I will definatley be back on my next visit to Reading.

Right this place used to be good for the music and vodka jelly, but is only for the vodka jelly now tho. Music's gone downhill, used to be good if u liked r'n'b and hip hop and not just the commercial stuff. A good mix it used to be. Now its just getting well commercial and turning in to the Ciara soundtrack pub, god she's an annoying bitch. Talking of annoying too, as i got near the other day im sure i heard the crazy frog song on too with a chavvy tramp girl flashing her breasts out the window dancing to it. As u may imagine its a classy place. And if u like a bit of your own personal space steer well clear, its at a premium here. But if u like chavvy girls brushing their droopers up against your back and blowing smoke in ur hair after asking u for a light, then this is the place to be.

A good meeting place and the bar staff are very nice and easy on the eye. Good music and some nice comfy leather sofa's (if your lucky enough to get one).

Bar 4 is a wicked night out. The manager lives for that bar, she puts her heart in to it. You don't understand.... Staff are wicked and friendly, doormen are wicked and the DJs always offer a decent selection. Bar 4 is small but it ain't the size - its what you do with it, or so I'm told :o)

I think Jelly is a bit of a muppet and has had a bit of a bad child hood, He/she got nothing to say that good about ANY venue.
I think the aussie weekend thay had was great, I can't wait till the next theme night.

Weekends are fantastic in there, the staff dance on the bar. The staff are always friendly, dancing, and having a laugh while they work. It's always got a really good atmousphere.
