I had dinner at cini last week with my girlfriend, although a shame that 77 closed down the food at cini is very good and modestly priced. We only intended to go there for a beer but stayed to eat and were pleasantly surprised. A number of people were eating there but there were also some of the old 77 regulars at the bar. Nice place, nice people, great food, excellent value. All round thumbs up.

Apparently re-opening shortly as a restaurant cum bar called Cini (modern european theme according to the notice on the door). Unclear whether it'll be mainly a restaurant, mainly a bar, or a combination of both yet.

Apparently this has closed due to Camden Council telling the owners they had to relocate the toilets from the first floor to the ground and remove the spiral staircase in the process. Health and safety blah blah. This was going to cost many thousands so the owners gave up on it. I wasn't a regular but it's still sad to see it go; there aren't a great many watering holes in Wampstead left that are worth going to...

Bit of a shame this. First went here about 15 years ago.You could always get a seat and very pleasant sitting outside in the summer. Bit of a sun trap. I stopped having food here a while back though. Matters weren't helped by the kitchen area being on a different lease. Becoming offices apparently. As you say, another one bites the dust.

This bar has now closed. Victim of a new landlord apparently, no doubt soon to be re-opened as an estate agents as West Hampy hasn't got enough of them already...
Shame. Was an esoteric place, and you could feel a bit out of it as very much a regular's bar, but interesting, good on rugby days, and reasonable food (though that did deteriorate a bit over time).
Use your local pub or bar, scary amount closing at the moment!

poor value even for Hampstead and what do you make of a place where you can order your a starter straight away but have to wait 45 mins for a main - hello ???? Decided against a starter which was probably made the night before - Gordon Ramsey can help out maybe ? Sausage and Mash was very average in a gloopy gravy swimming in balsamic vinegar ? Wine list is rather limited, despite all this winging the service is very friendly an polite. On balance though there are alot better options up the hill in the village proper.

I do agree with the St George's night. Last year was a great laugh. However, we went in recently and ordered a glass of wine. The girl behind the bar went to the fridge and got an already poured glass of wine out. Paying 3.80 for it I said "I'd like a glass poured out of the bottle please." "It was poured recently", she says. "Really, I want a freshly poured glass please." It's this type of mindset that I find baffling.
I'm sure it's nothing intentional, just a bit lacking.

having lived in the area and been to 77s regularly for years, I can't agree with comments on either the staff or the atmosphere. Owners go out of their way to ensure you are happy, there is a great atmosphere on sports days and nights like St Georges. The drink costs are no different to those in other wine bars. Agree the food menu is limited, but changes on a regular basis and of the dozen or so times I've eaten here, have never been disappointed.

I think "anonymous" below sums it up nicely. I like it here - it's mellow on a Sunday afternoon and not many people around but they're right, something always nagged me but I couldn't put my finger on it - the feeling that almost 4 for a pint of lager is a rip off. How long will it be before you're paying a fiver, yes a fiver for a pint of lager. Criminal.

The food is an absolute rip off, especially given the 12.5% service charge slipped onto the bottom of the menu, and below average quality. Drinks are overpriced as well.
Atmosphere not bad but can't get away from the nagging feeling you are being fleeced every time you set foot in the place.

The food is OK but a limited menu, poor service and over priced drinks make this one to avoid.

Ate here on Friday and it wasn't too bad - burger, lasagne, that type of stuff. Budvar was 3.70 for 2 halves!! Bring on the 4 pint

I went into this bar as my Mother was up for the day and it looks so lovely from the outside and always busy we thought we would try it. DO NOT try it, I was embarrassed, the service was horrendous and I have never met such miserable and snotty staff in my life, definately worth avoiding!

Parochial and snotty. Was frowned upon for ordering the house red - at 4.50ish a glass.

Well, as local it's the friendliest place in NW London. Draft beer is Budvar and there is a vicious rumour that there will be Guinness on soon. But they've been saying that for months! All in all, great food, Tremendous bar staff and every rugby match you can ask for!

I have to disagree with the above comments here. I really enjoy the place and the atmosphere. But it is a wine bar after all, so comments about no beer taps are irrelevant. And now they have installed them anyway to stop the whingers complaining. They let you taste the wine BEFORE you buy it. which I haven't seen in too many other places. The food is nice although the menu is not extensive. I would recommend it to anyone for a decent glass of wine.

Find this place a bit up itself. No draught lager and you rightly point out the excessive price of the drinks. Also, gave me a funny look when I bought a further 2 bottles and asked for 2 new glasses.

Re-mortgage your house to get a drink here. More of a foodie place which looks great but we always tend to baulk at the prices and walk to West Hampstead instead.
