I believe this is still closed following extensive flooding. Was a large ale house popular with students.

Very good pub, the drink selection is amazing, with your usual lagers and ale's on tap and lots of cocktails and spirits to choose from, but it's the whiskey selection that impresses me, with around 10 whiskeys on offer (Knobcreek my fav) you really are spoilt for choice. They offer a wide selection of music to which i like as i'm a real music boff, from Hip-hop to house or Rock to Reggae, they have it all. Great pub. Keep up the good work.

I'd not visited here since 2005 when Kent last played cricket at the Mote. Approaching the pub I thought it was closed down as the sign was missing and the exterior had a tatty look to it but thankfully the place is still going. It wasn't busy but seeing as it was afternoon and the pub is a bit off the beaten track that wasn't surprising. The girl behind the bar was friendly. The ales were Yellowhammer, Summer Lightning and another whose name escapes me. The place still has character, decent music and a bare floorboards homely feel. If I lived in Maidstone I would use it regularly.

I would say this is Maidstone's best pub and looks set to stay like that. A great atmosphere which does well to deter Maidstone's overwhelming population of scum. It has a good selection of ciders but could perhaps include more on the ale front. The choice at the moment, however limited, is certainly good standard. Great music and friendly staff. It is good to see the change of mangement hasn't effected the pub.

Back in the day, your choice was here or the Hog's/Druids,for an evening out but six/seven years on...still pretty much the same!
Still a 'studenty' place, beer still ok-Hobgoblin, Adnams and another usually in decent condition.But...if money could/would be invested then should be the alehouse of choice!
Ample outside space, dingy, well worn interior which personally I like...and for which reason alone I'll still pay homage and return everytime I'm let out to play!

a good old fashioned pub if a bit expensive!!IT TENDS TO BE A YOUNG STUDENT college boy type pub,but with a nice relaxed feel..a lot of pubs in town attract chaves but this doesn`t...fri and sat nights are good..in the summer they hav djs in the courtyard..all in all a nice chilled place with a good feel.

Was a superb find a few months back due to its isolated location. The sudden change to over 21's has been a terrible move as the pub served a wide range of drinks and had a very good sized beer garden which was good to relax in of a night time or during the day

Drakes has a really good vibe with excellent DJ's at the weekend. Obviously the Real Slim Lady and breakbeats most Fridays. Top pub and the only place to go that has no trouble in Maidstone.

Brilliant music down there on a Friday night, the Real Slim Lady (female DJ) really knows how to get the pre clubbing crowd going with brilliant tunes!! Dont miss out!!

Easily Maidstones greatest pub. Drakes has been a haven from all the "trendy bars" in town for years now.
