Now called Remedy, it's much nicer than when it was Bar XS but it seems to have lost some of its character. Seems to be a much higher percentage of students there than previously, but the food is very good now so I'll take that.

The pub came under new management in summer (2007) and since then seems to be taking some big steps to improve.Best thing is BIG SCREEN PRO EVO!! which you can play every day for free on their massive screen. Other improvements include getting rid of the old door staff which were surly and useless in short, as fighting occuring a few times a night every friday and saturday. New Door staff seem alot more on the ball and i have not seen any fighting there in a long time now. Music has changed on a friday to house. They have introduced a new menu which has some cracking meals on it i personally enjoy the XS breakfast which is a beast and the sunday carvery they do. My mate says the burgers are really nice but i am not a burger fan so you will have to make your own call there as i have not had one. There is still the comedy on a tuesday which won an award recently i think of best club. They have also had a refurb. It is a bit more studenty in the week on the nights and still quiet in the day but hat just means you get on the pro evo every time!!!

coke in the toilets, broken glass on the floor, snarling bouncers, fierce managers, jumpy scallies, nervous students, uber loud music, makeshift cop shop outside, but i love this place cos its where i proposed to the mrs 17 years ago. (when it was yates's)

notoriousd....You must be drawing pictures of an empty pub on your windows, because when you look in -whilst speeding past this bobbins pub on the 42 bus-it always looks empty.......Hope your other pub reviews are a little more lucid.......

Avoid. Had a terrble night there once, but that could have been due to the karaoke. An interesting table football table though.

Dead good. Has the best (and cheapest) comedy night in the NW on tuesday night, good choice of lager, affordbale and decent staff.
The only people who dont like this pub are students. Which makes it all the more attractive.

Just been redone. The video projector's smaller and they've used a tasteful shade of magnolia to brighten the walls.
