Visited last Monday lunch time. Not a bad pint but a touch of lemonde in the double Bells Whisky (special offer) was 75p! To me a complete rip off. No more visits for me.

Bog standard town pub with much better competition all around: not much atmosphere, no cask ale. Not awful, but not great, and given the pub density in Whitby, you'd be better elsewhere.

This is a bog standard town centre pub. Friday evening it has live music (at the time of writing).
It's nothing special but on the other hand very acceptable. It got very busy late on with people having a drink before going on to the club across the road.

Unfortunately no one sat in bath of baked beans. That review was a hard to ignore invitation to visit this pub. On a very quiet Sunday night, this pub was burning its own hole in the ozone layer, every light that could be on, was, as well as the heating being turned up to high, and the music on the juke box/player was desparate.

Spend ages waiting to be served by staff too busy talking to their friends

A busy, nice and lively pub.

anyone out there know if there will be any music in the Plough Whitby folk festival week? Cheers

First time I went in here, there was a guy sat outside in a bath of baked beans. Split in two, the vault is for the "oldies" while the lounge has a pool table that doubles as a mixing desk. Often entertainment and quite small but can recommend the Tetley's (also sell Imperial) and it really depends at what stage of the day you go in.
