Visited last night. Definitely feels like a locals pub, the only other punters were sat round the bar chatting to the landlord. Only Pedigree available on cask and it didn't seem to be in amazing condition but perfectly drinkable nonetheless. Must be handy for nipping for a quick pint while suffering a shopping trip though.
Once cask ale (Pedigree) which was okay and certainly preferable to being in the nearby shops.

This should be one of the best pubs in town - but it aint! Great position and interesting layout. Not particularly welcoming and beer is unreliable. Essence of yob & deadleg. Wake up ! - This should be a goldmine.

Currently shut down 28/4/2012

Pub now closed and lease up for sale.

Well, having not visited for a year or so, my friends and I decided to give this place a call last Friday (20/1/12) the pub seemed lively and had a good atmosphere, and despite waiting at the bar in a conspicuous position for a good few minutes, the middle aged bar maid managed to ignore the 3 of us and serve AT LEAST 4 regulars who came to the bar after us! Cannot comment on quality of drinks as we decided our money would be better spent in the Old Market Tavern!

Decent food is served here - probably the best Sunday dinner in Alty!
Good, mostly rock, jukebox although something for all tastes on there.
What's with the incredibly loud retro rock music that pumps out of this pub into the shopping street outside during an average Saturday afternoon?
really good friendly pub! most people in there nkow most others, but feels very welcoming! good karaoke on friday nights and good laughs to be had!
Very small pub ,can be problem getting served if not a regular, not usually on our weekly alty pub crawls ,could offer better range of beers to attract more customers
Will pop in as always good for a pint but I used to get a bit fed up dodging the darts. Nice for a pint (or 3) while the missus is shopping
Boddies_drinker is correct. Now ran by Orange Tree. Beer range more or less the same. Has had slight redecoration including new room open to the top right of the pub (for darts) which works well.
Heard a rumour that this place has either been bought or taken over by the people who run the Orange Tree so watch this space for any developments
Quality pub for darts. Only problem with the place is that it shuts at 6 on a Sunday!
really cool pub, freindy staff and regular customers. Great beer garden and scallie free thanks 2 juke box with no dance music! Summer nites outside in beer garden are the best.
The new home of saturday afternoon darts, j'm pelle fromage frais les quality un jukebox.
Friendly pub with well kept Pedigree. Decor traditional and comfortable. The food is good.
quality pub and its great to spend a saturday in one they shut down the food bit and you can play darts all day, the managements seems okay to a bit of friendly wagering and they join in with a bit of banter !! good place !!
Brilliant for talent spotting in the summer, its that good it can be hard to get a bench at times. Nice and cosy inside but it can get a bit too cramped. Not the cheapest of pubs
dirty old men sit here at 3.30pm watchin schoolgirls. you have been warned
Lovely place to sit and enjoy the finer things in life! Good beer, fantastic view, great service and good old fashioned companionship! Love to spend lazy days in the beer garden/patio with a pint in one hand and a copy of the FT in the other. It warms the cockles of my heart to sit in the radient sunshine and chat with my fellow altrinchamites. the best thing about this pub is the amazing facilities: from state of the art decor to some of the cleanest toilets in the land. Sometimes I sit at the bar daydreaming that I'm in a 5 star luxing hotel in Knightbridge, not too disimilar I can tell U! All in all a great PUB! Have a good day and thank U for taking time out of your busy schedule to read this, it's much appreciated. X

Decent Fosters??? This is a cracking pub with good service and ale. It also features the best jukebox in Altrincham and the sweetest, most delicious pint of Strongbow availible. The clientele are friendly and welcoming, this is a good 'midway' during a crawl .

This pub is a class place... Hasn't had a lot of metal on the jukebox but I don't mind really as the cider and Guinness is spot on...

Handily placed in the pedestrian precinct,so sit and watch the shoppers go by with a nice pint of Manchester's finest. By night it gets fairly busy, the clientele are mainly heavy metal buffs who like their music loud, but the beer is normally worth the effort and The Smiths get an occassional airing. The building is one of the older ones in the area, so space is a ltitle cramped and the toilets even more so if you can get to them through the throngs. One of the barmaids recently had her "assets" insured for 100,000 by the landlord but this seemed more of a publicity stunt and I haven't seen her since. Still has a regularly used dart board, something of a failing art in pubs these days.
