Well Well well, happy dayz, looks like everything never went to plan with the place AKA CAESERS, whats with the garden furniture (statues) not good, it used to be a top night out, maybee not the buisiest place but it was the best and most origonal bar in ALty, great atmosphere as well, what has happened to it and why did they ever change it?

Avoid. Scruffy place that's well past it, caters mainly for those who 'bus it in' to Alty at the weekend - if you know what I mean. I cannot see why anyone would want to go there, scally or gentleman.

Food is crap.
|
Pretty scruffy, few customers. Do people want everything under 2 ? Altrincham isn't really a student town.

Not very inviting. Bit of a goldfishbowl bar. Not a place to go with someone ugly - you will be spotted!

no longer call Hogshead - now called THE PLACE- a place id rather not go thanks.
we walked in and they havent changed a thing inside - its very empty we walked straight out again no atmosphere what so ever and the bar was barely stocked - not worth a visit!
supposedly everything under 2 - who cares its poor effort of a pub

Had a breakfast in here and it was crap. I know everything is under 2 but I'd rather pay 2.95 for a decent brekkie at the Unicorn. Cheap pint OK thuough, 1.70 for Carling.

Getting a re-furb and a new name. (The Place) Follows the same idea as a bar in Fallowfeild where everything is under 2, should be good we will wait and see.

Typical of the Hogshead chain though probably frequented by the younger end of the market.A former opticians, the glass frontage means you can watch the world pass by but given the age of the bulk of customers, don't expect a great variety of bitter or a good quality. Stick to lager or bottles in here, the food is standard fare and they do have a TV for the sport. Probably best to pop in for one between the Porterhouse and the Grapes, while you're crawling around Altrincham
