First visit to this cellar bar in November for me. Some of the beers had gone off. But there was still Vibrant Forest Cydonia & Black Forest & Eight Arch Corbel. Ciders were Purbeck Muddy Scamp & Joe's Sweet & South Downs Horsey Girl. I'm sure I'll be back here one day.

Now reinvented as Belgium & Blues and has a fantastic selection of ales including such gems as Vibrant Forest Kaleidoscope and Black October. Much improved. On the pricey side but worth it.

Really good bar found the staff very friendly and helpful. Free WIFI is provided which really helps me so thumbs up for that in its own respect! Passing through so cant comment on the regulars but yeah nice pub, will drop in again if im in the area

SUPERBLY run, great atmosphere, my favourite pub in Southampton. Any trouble spilling in from people who've forgotten how to get to Leisure World (very rare - the fact that it stands out as something to comment on is that the exceptions tend to stand out in your mind) is immediately snuffed out by staff who know what they're doing and an established clientele who support them.
Was really worried the smoking ban was going to murder this pub (look at The Hampton's next door to see what pubs in Southampton are turning in to, horrific self-satisfied place) but it keeps on going.
Love it.

Great pub Friendly staff Free jukebox with good eclectic range of music The place to go if you want a great burger or "ultimate breakfast" Cute corner seats with romantic lighting, you might even find love here (i did, its where i met my husband)

A rare find, a basement bar. Makes an interesting alternative to pubs elsewhere in Southampton which, barring a few exceptions, exude a generic chain quality. This one had a couple of Greene King ales on cask but I plumped for a lager as I didn't have long before my bus turned up. It depends really what you're looking for here - if you like something a little rough round the edges and don't mind the indie crowd, you'll probably like it. In terms of ale, I'll probably give this place a miss next time and head for Wetherspoons where the keep the Ringwood in excellent nick.
|
Decent food, the burgers were bloody huge and tasty, cheap n'all. Forgot wetherspoons when your hungry. Relaxed atmosphere, pleasant staff and also has a good mix of people. Very good music which is on the alternative vibe. One of the better bars in Southampton.
|
Good atmosphere even if it does get very loud and cramped, no chavs normally which is essential and often some good ales to try.
|
Can get busy at weekends but check out their crazy selection of vodka shots. A must if you're on a bar crawl
|
Loved walking down those stairs across the road from uni after class. Hated walking back out two hours later, without any sense of faculty! Good mixed grill too. Get that meat out!

the circus has come to town and they are drinking here. it trully looks like the freak circus. the staff are friendly and the beer is good if on the expensive side. one to make you laugh and have a good time
|
Great place. I lift my hat in particular to the angry Scots mans working behind the bar who pulled an excellent pint in good time.
|
This is as far into town as I normally venture for drinks, But saying that it is a cool place, always pop in on the way back from brief shopping missions. Well, can't pass a decent pub without a swift pint...or three.

One of my fav places,I dont go as much as use to. But its still the same cool place, Great FREE jukebox, great drinks and the food is very good. Also has quiz machine and Sky Sports. I did prefere the place before the refit.

I used to visit the pub a couple of times a week. Sadly because of its FREE alternative jukebox it has become popular with students and can be a very tight squeeze down there some nights as its a basement pub. Still has a good selection of drinks and the flovoured vodkas are worth a try. Great food to.
