Would just like to say thank you so much to the bar staff and clients there for making my visit to this pub so enjoyable. Although I am not a local, I would come back to this pub, for the atmosphere and welcome alone.

Has always been a good atmosphere when I visited along with a very well priced pint. One of the only "real" pubs in the area in my opinion. Shame there aren't any ales on tap.

Previous pub Royal Oak and Gas Tavern/Pure Drop. After the last pub, this pub is packed. OK there's England v Wales on the TV and can only count 3 women in here, or is that 3 and a half ?? And one of them is behind the bar. No ales on pump. For something that advertises as a Free House and only has one pump this is very poor. Good points decent atmosphere, TV, Pool table. Bad points, everything else. Yes I've had a few but in this place it seems sobriety is out of fashion so feeling very inadequate. Brewhouse next, let's see if its Free House credentials stack up.,

This pub is great every time I go in there the people are so nice use to go in there years ago but was abit of a shit hole back then but the last year new people have gone in and have turn it around great music and the staff are so nice it is one of the best pubs in poole better then the pure drop and gas tavern.

Oh my God as if the Gas Tavern was bad enough this place is worse. You can see people coming out the toilet with what I suppose is talcum powder under their noses. I do not know who runs this God awful shi*e hole but I wish the police would do something about it. I think the landlord/lady was a couple at the end of the bar well, she was drunk as a skunk and I could not understand why I had to go outside to the old toilet to get a pint of lager from someone who looked like an oversized beeched whale who was as round as he was tall I heard by the mouth of a landlady that his name was "The Fish". Vile place I shall never return

Decent locals pub just off from the High Street. Home of the longest Meat Draw on the South Coast! (probably)

As a new couple around Poole we literaly fell across this place and had a great night. The surroundings may not favour the young set but be willing to be one of the locals and they will take you as there own, definatly rate this little boozer
