The staff are on the ball. Efficient and knowledgeable about the ales, which are usually a good variety . Sandwiches are the best, but the pie, beans and mash take a lot of beating. A good unpretentious pub, no frills, but well run.

OK - staff seemed rushed off their feet and second time in had Orkney - Northern Lights...might be wrong but thought it had a twang to the taste which my colleague pointed out - I did'nt want to say anything out of respect...but it was there. Otherwise, friendly enough pub and reasonable beer range - not sure why GK IPA has to be house beer though!!?

This is the kind of pub I wsh was near where I live, really good beer, great sandwiches at lunchtime, friendly staff and welcoming.

A nice proper pub with a good selection of constantly changing real ales. Would thoroughly recommend to students, locals, tourists and visitors alike.

Good real ales on and the bar staff on the ball
|
Good selection of ales. Excellent food, I can recommend the double decker sandwiches!
|
some sort of after taste, either from dirty pipes or something in the washing of the glasses, ruins the beer for me in this bar .. a pity, for apart from that its a good pub

Good selection of beer that changes frequently---always worth a visit. Nice relaxed atmosphere (no music).

One of only 4 pubs now in St. Andrews offering real ale (all at the same end of town - weird). Cracking variety of beer, friendly staff & customers. Can get very smoky sometimes.

Awesome, simply awesome, the Free Doms comp on a wednesday night make it worth the visit alone. Who'd pass up the chance of free beer and steak pie for winning!!

Really good city centre pub, friendly bar staff, good mix of locals tourists and students getting along in a friendly mixed atmosphere, but most off all, cold, fizzy lager, an every changing selection of real ales and guest beers make it my favourite boozer and well worth adding to your cracking site
