I'm not sure what to make of this place. With bouncers on the door, a children's birthday party, a few football fans and a clientele that were clearly quiet monied, there was a strange mix of people. Drinks were being served in plastic glasses and also in short measures. Fuller's London Pride, Sambrook's Wandle & Adnams Ghost Ship were on, alongside something called Parson's Pale Ale (possibly Sambrook's Pumphouse Pale). The interior is well appointed. But there was nothing that would possibly encourage me back.

Should/could be so much better. Saturday lunchtime: fairly busy, but by no means swamped. Peroni, at four quid a pint, was flat and poor. Real ales kept so badly as to be undrinkable - served with bits floating around! Staff, however, couldn't care less. Surly and doing only as much as they have to in order to avoid being sacked, it seems. Lots of other good pubs nearby - I suggest you try them.

I regularly use this Great place, it is not a Night Club, and is only licensed till 12 midnight at weekends, a good starting point. I was there on the night you played (If thats what you call it) it had been the usual great night until then! you were right about the Garden being busy, its because your mob struck up! I told the management that they should book you everytime that they wanted the place cleared early LOL. You should rename your shamble of a band from "4 Hours" to "THE BOILED EGGS" Everyone had enough after 3 minutes. Dont ring me.

I recently visited Aragon House as my band 4Hours were gigging there. We had been promised a really good night, with crowds pouring in because they all love live music. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. The pub itself is massive - 3 separate areas, 2 with a bar. The 'end' of the pub (the right hand end) is where the live bands were playing. The room wasn't huge but enough to hold 40/50 people. There was a BBQ going, food was lovely, 9 a burger though, bit expensive! The beer was expensive too, and they were understaffed (Germany had just played in the 3rd place play off in the World Cup, it was heaving!), which meant a good 10minute wait just to get served. As the night went on, people plainly left. By the time we gigged, there were 3 people in the room, of which we knew all 3. The outside garden area was mildly busy, but considering this was a Saturday night, it was dead. Let this be a warning to all bands being promised 'fantastic gigs' at Aragon House - you are being misled. Also, the equipment was SHOCKING, there wasn't a sound man and the DJ played 3 songs after us before the Landlord told him to pack up and leave as it was too quite (this was about 11.45pm). Great pub to start your night, but don't expect to stay there anytime after 10.30!

I recently visited the Aragon house for a friends 30th birthday party and really wasn't expecting much from this place on the outside. But wow was i impressed with the atmosphere that i was presented with. Not only where the staff helpful and always smiling (music selection was enjoyable). The crowd that was there where well polished and friendly as well. The drinks reasonably priced for this area and the burger I had was epic for a tenner. The Garden is an added bonus and look forward to coming here kicking my feet up and enjoying my next birthday here with my mates. This place would be a great place to watch world cup footie too.

We came in today for lunch there were 3 of us. We ordered 2 burgers and a goats cheese on toast. We waited just over an hour for our meal. The burgers came out, 1 of them was wrong and then 10 minutes after I was informed that the goat's cheese had run out. This should have been told to me when I ordered and paid for my meal. I ordered a salad in place of it and was told it would take another 30 minutes. Eventually it came, not as I had ordered it. When asked to speak to the manager we were told he couldn't come to us, we had to go and find him by the waiter who had NO clue. We went in to complain and were then informed that there was no manager there! The waiter also informed us that they were unable to refund our money! This is absolutely shocking. On a sunny Sunday afternoon, you should be more prepared. Very unprofessional. Never again and I have let my VERY large circuit of friends to boycott this place, as well as the people around us today, who as sat there made bookings more lunch elsewhere. It's a shambles and you ought to be ashamed. We also had two rounds of drinks, with the same order each time and they were different prices.

Although there are many good things to say about this pub- the highlight for me was certainly the management. The manager himself, more precisely. Greeted with a smile that would end wars, cure gout, beat Labour!- and the experience only got better from there. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was snug in the afternoon and more upbeat in the evening. The decoration is an explosion of gold Rococo magic; deep sofas and high ceilings; all the more dreamy for the array of big brown eyes behind the bar. And it was full of other people who seemed to love the place and treat it like a home from home. A lovely, distinctive, pub, with a touch of extravagance.

Huge beer garden - shame it was raining when we called in. Funky decor. Deuchars was ok.
|
Additional handpump did not materialise and very little real ale now.
|
Excellent choice of real ale served at a perfect temperature (not warm!)by a discerning management - Jennings Cumberland Ale, Nethergate Suffolk County & Hogsback Tea on handpump on last visit. Additional handpump in the pipeline! Nice garden and BBQ for summer lounging.

I like this place. You get what you would expect from an upmarket pub on Parsons Green. Yes there are pretentious people in here, but it's safe, comfortable, the service is good, excellent wine list, and the food is very reasonable too for the quality. Why not I say!

I really like this pub. Nice atmosphere, beautiful clientle, good drinks: one of anly a few places to stock Tapio bottled cocktails. Yum yum...

I never knew this place existed! What an amazing garden and the BBQ!! I can honestly say i ate the best burger i've ever had! I will be returning.

Smart & sophisticated and full of stunning girls getting leathered on Pimms, Champagne and whatever else money can buy!
Love it!
nb The Wasps team often pop in after a game, which is cool esp if we've just beaten Leicester!

I avoided the NYE party on matter of principal. Although I like this pub, I find NYE one of the most overrated evenings of the year and the thought of spending 85 in the hope of avoiding disappointment seemed to be too risky for my blood...
Other than that. I enjoy the seclusion and style of this pub. Not too bothered by the sloane element and fairly uninspired by the staff, to be honest...
Good place for a quiet drink before heading somewhere interesting. Alternatively, very good for birthday drinks with a large group so you can take it over!

I disagree with the comments about NYE at Aragon House. I went with some friends and had a great time [pissed as a newt]. The atmosphere was great - loved the chocolate fountain!

I went here with a large group of friends for NYE 2005 each paying 85 for entry and drinks all night. I was bitterly disappointed to realise that after 5 vodka+tonics I was still sober. The rest of the girls in my group who were drinking spirits said the same, as did the table next to us. When one of my friends went to the bar, and said "oh don't bother putting any mixer in that vodka, I'll just down it" he was told, "No- this wasn't allowed, that they wern't permited to give out shots of vodka". How is this possible when we were drinking shots of tequila thoughout the night?? They had watered down the vodka so much - that friends in my group who were drinking spirits were all sober at midnight. I feel angry to have paid so much money, to be ripped off and taken advantage of. I would not reccommend this bar to anyone.

Sort of bar you will love or hate. Sloanes love it. Chavs hate it. Rather pricey too.

Standing at the White Horse across Parsons Green it is almost impossible to spot this pub, and this is just one of its array of charming aspects. The staff are friendly, the beer is refreshing and the walking into the bar is like appearing in an issue of Country Homes. Big sofas, antique furniture and copies of the Sistine Chapel bedecking the walls make this pub a joy to take in. In the summer a BBQ is started in the endearing walled beer garden out the back, and one would struggle to spend a more pleasant, alcohol filled afternoon in London.
Of course, this pub does come with a warning: Sloanes patrol the area. But then again, if you're going to drink the best Pimms in London, you have to take the rough with the smooth.
Damn my expensive tastes!

Great establishment no riff raff as the bar is not well advertised from the road. Once you've been there and actually found the place you will return.

pretenious Hooray Henry haunt. I've never seen so many starched collars and chinos in one venue.

Very nice indeed. The barmaids that is. Oh, and the ambience is rather pleasant too. Can sit inthe very new, freshly landscaped garden and dodge frozen effluent being dumped from the Heathrow-bound airliners directly overhead. Still, its far more cosy that the White Horse, and the bottles of beer are well priced. Didnt use the loo there so no comment re. gold seats.

A great place, with a brilliant atmosphere. I must add, extremely well managed, with fresh, goodlooking bar staff. Good fun over the summer months... 10/10... gold * etc.

Always has a great atmosphere there is a good beer garden. The Bogs are very cool also. They have very strong air blow dryers!!! Gold Loo seats!! The hand Dryers are of Industrial Strength so you will be able to dry your hands. That is you wash after you shoot!

One of the best pubs in London, its got bags of character esp in the summer, great food, great atmosphere and best of all the staff are fast, friendly and welcoming I can't rate it highly enough.

A gem of a bar, great for people watching, friendly staff, perfect atmosphere for a quiet drink or a big boozy night out. Private function room available downstairs. The bathrooms are a must see! Definitely worth a trip

This is a great little bar just on Parsons Green. The decor is eclectic and the toilets are fab. The glittery gold seats and turbo hand dryer are a must see! I love coming to this bar as everyone is v. friendly, the only bad point is the bar staff are a little unsure how to make good shooters-one guy measured out ours with a teaspoon... aside from that I give it 4 out of 5. Great bbq in the Summer
