Nice little pub that I and the wife frequent perhaps once a fortnight.
Excellent pint of Woodfordes Wherry, the only ale available at time of visit.

Staff presentable and the place is spotlessly clean.

Food is nothing special for the prices charged which on occasions has been a let down , so we eat elsewhere. Still nice place to have a refreshing pint and or a large glass of wine.

I believe their daytime focus is on food, and the menu and pricing is distinctly up-market. But a very civilised environment with quality service from what I've seen and occasionally tried.
As for the night-time drinking sessions - varies according to the weekday. Can get very crowded and 'shouty' of a weekend, with newly-18 kids flexing their social skills. Sometimes pre-clubbing hen and stag warm-ups can get boisterous, sweary and rude, but usually good humoured. Not seen a fight there yet.
As for the beer, variable would be my opinion, although they proudly display the 'Cask Marque' of excellence. There is always a good Courage Best and GK IPA, but the other 'guest ales' e.g. 'Speckled Hen' and 'Woodforde's Wherry', seem to linger too long in the cellar and can get very 'dusty' tasting or, on one occasion sour, and returned for refund. Fair to say that their evening clientele are largely throwing lagers and chasers down their necks, and so the uptake on guest cask barrels is not enough to keep them in peak condition. But that really is no excuse for serving 'off' beer, the cellar-person must 'know' when the cask has been there too long, that it will taste bad. There's an element of 'just a few more days' when it should be thrown out.
To be fair, the staff will always offer a 'try-before-buy' sipping glass - if they are not too busy.
The staff are friendly, courteous and neatly turned out, but keen to 'get rid' at the end of the night, with abrupt 'music off/lights up to maximum' as well as the traditional bell.

Just popped in for a quickie today and really liked this place. Cosy, clean and good range of lagers (Kroney, Amstel and Heineken etc). Plumped fgor the Heinie and slightly surprised to be charged 3.60, but this looks set to be my local so guess I'd better start saving...!

Don't think this pub is as good as it used to be. Although a few real ales the quality is variable. Pleasant surrounding though.

Friendly, if pricey, place to drink. Excellent staff, good food, good beer. What more could you want?

Used to like this place for a quiet drink during the week, pretty cosy and has nice enough staff but since my friend got her drink spike there - have avoided it like the plague.

Lovely place, a bit quiet but a break from the norm. Think the balconies will make all the difference. Can't wait to sit out there when the sun comes out to play!!!

We have a new seasonal menu implemented, as well as an outside decked balcony that starts construction in the next two months. We now have a no smoking restaurant that started today so everyone can enjoy our fine food! The management welcomes you and any comments you may have to fulfill your needs as a customer. Thank you from myself and my team. Ross Whittome (Manager).
