Dont bother. Plastic "Irish pub" at extortionate prices. Infact just avoid the Printworks completely at all costs.
The Marble Arch is just a 15-20 minute walk away and is vastly superior with its own brewery and awesome food plus interesting sloping floor.

You know what you're getting. Inauthentic cardboard cutout irish theme bar that was cutting edge in 1995.
It's nothing particularly offensive and does what it does fairly well. As said in a previous review - standard Printworks fare.

Went back to Waxy's again, this time for St Patrick's Day on Wednesday. It was packed! loved the live music, got myself a Guinness hat and struggled through work the next day with a sore head. It was worth it.

Had the opportunity to visit Manchester this weekend and had heard mixed reports about the Printworks but Waxy O'Connor's was fantastic. Coming from Glasgow I am well aquainted with Waxy's and wasn't dissapointed with their sister venue just south of the border. Made it there on Sunday for some live music, Sunday lunch was great and stayed most of the afternoon watching the GAA. Going back to Manchester to watch Man U in a few weeks so will be back.

It's a fake Irish bar of the type that is dying out all over the country. Has a decent interior though with several distinct areas to sit/stand. No real ale of course. Full of squealie girlies (and boys come to think of it) later at night. Not my idea of a good night out.

Any pub with an address that begins "unit 3..." should set alarm bells ringing.
Standard printworks fare - comodified, fake drinking experience.

Standard pub selection of drinks. Great interior with lots of hiding holes and a maze of stairways.

Nice and quiet in the daytime and a noisy mess at night.

Like the pub, it has a nice interior. Some cosy corners.

I like this pub,it hasn`t got the tardis like space you encounter coming in thru the Rupert st entrance of the west end branch...but the nooks,crannies & assorted stairways,with their baronial hall woody bits keep you entertained whilst your waiting for the head on your (not inexpensive) Guinness to settle...
just try ONE for the experience

Had a great night, was fun. Drink wasn't dirt cheap but not expesnive. Meal for 11 of us, including drinks cost us ~ �225. So 25 a head for two courses and beer... can't be bad. Yes, full of loads of plastic paddies, but then what irish bar outside of ireland isn't ?
Only bad points, were served an irish coffee with off cream - in fairness they took it back and gave us free drink instead.
V. Crowded. To the point of becoming trouble with the natives. Had some bloke try to cause trouble, and we rarely saw any bouncers - except at the end of the night.
Excusing the random trouble bloke we had a good night, for a good price.

waxy o' connors is more suited to the older crowd, music is dated, decor is dated and with the all the unnecessary staircases you get lost very easily. bar staff are friendly but not a good night out if you want good music and atmosphere

The place is interesting and very pleasant. The bar staff are very nice and friendly. Unfortunately the music is not to my personal tase, but it is good for people who like that type of thing. Rather expensive for drinks which spoils it.

what a great pub loads of good music with fridays and saturdays dj the guy from galxy 102 good staff and great food not that exspencive if dont mind paying for qaulity and if you like clean pubs this is the best in manchester

Not a real irish pub a plastic experience, a busy place but not enough staff and I thought the irish were supposed to be friendly very expensive too,,, went to exchange square after still busy in the three bars but got served with a smile especially the crown and anchor

I enjoy this pub a lot - good jukebox, tasty Guinness, and one of the few places I've found that actually stocks Morgan's Spiced and knows what you're talking about! True, it's not the cheapest place, but that can be a good thing. Also seems like every time I go in there I find some other hidden seating area - I've found eight so far! Nice tree in the middle of it, too... :o)

Good Guinness, they sell Taytos, and the drink is expensive so it reminds me of Dublin! Lovely gaff!

Nice of Tim to be so descriptive. This is quite a nice pub. Essentially it is the spitting image of the London one only you go down instead of up to get in. Nice food, good Guinness (to be expected) and a good atmosphere for the rugby.
