Another visit to Glasgow and another visit here. Pretty busy on a Monday afternoon just after the lunchtime rush. Good friendly service as always. Prices have gone up since my last visit but I suppose still reasonable for a City Centre bar. Locals friendly if you want a chat but won't bother you if you want to be alone. Certainly a good Glasgow bar. Oh the beers. I tried a few and they were all good.

Very busy pub in a busy part of Glasgow, food, drink & customers coming & going like a MacDonalds. Despite the frantic atmosphere the staff were friendly and efficient and my pint of Deuchars IPA (2.40) tasty & well priced.

Friendly staff and service. Pub seems to be busy from early morning until late at night. Clientele ranges from students to pensioners and everything in-between. The toilets used to be called Lady's and Laddies but Laddies is now Gents as too many Women were mistakenly visiting the wrong toilets. The Kitchen staff must be working none stop as food was being served constantly. Several keg beers and ciders on plus 3 real ales normally but only two on during my visit Stewarts 80 shilling and Deauchar IPA. The Deuchars was spot on. Prices very good for a city centre pub and you can understand how they can keep the prices low by the amount to trade they get.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

"If I wasn't hanging around for a bus back to Blighty that particular evening, wild horses would not have dragged me in." Erm, what do you mean 'Back to Blighty'? Blighty is a reference to Britain, not England!! And 5thearl, you probably picked the wrong night to go.
I popped into Lauders for a couple of pints recently (same as I always do when back up the road from Ingerland). Hasn't changed a bit, and that's why I like it. It's a great pub, with a great atmosphere when busy. Unlike many other pubs, this one hasn't opted for the poncey look of a pub-cum-winebar.

I have seen it at night!
The beer ( Deuchars' I.P.A. ) was fine, as was the service.
I have to disagree about the atmosphere, however. A soulless place, bouncers on the door, stainless steel toilets. If I wasn't hanging around for a bus back to Blighty that particular evening, wild horses would not have dragged me in.
I won't go as far as to say I'd never rubbish a Spoons again, but it's pretty damn' close!
If the Deuchars had not been as good as it was, and the service as good as it was - Spoons, take note - this bar would not have rated the 5/10 I am giving it.

A traditional Glasgow city center pub.
"Not seen it at night" probably wise ;)

Nice large bar with good range of products and an unbeliveable menu - "Extra large sausage & mash 6.95" - 9, yes, NINE sausages with mash and gravy!!!! Decent staff, enough tellies to show different sports at each end of the bar. Toilets worth a visit - prison issue "fixed" stainless steel throughout! Visited several times for lunch and always busy. Not seen it at night - maybe the toilet furniture suggest trouble.....?
