The Pint Shop is worth visiting for its huge range of both real ales and craft beers. With ciders as well, the number was almost 30. Real ales were Adnams Bitter & Broadside & Oakham JHB. Siren Yulu was also listed. But I couldn't see it. Real ciders were Heck's Kingston Black & Snail's Bank Gooseberry Fool. Craft beers came from brewers such as Camden, Adnams, Salopian, Brew York, Gipsy Hill, Bone Machine, Almasty, Signature Brew, Yorkshire Dales, Siren, Magic Rock, Omnipollo, Lervig, Half Acre & Chorlton. An 11% Pecan Mud Cake imperial stout looked intriguing. But at £6 a third, I decided not to try it. A few were requesting samples though. The interior has a number of different rooms off a corridor, all with lots of wood. There is a dining room upstairs, with toilets on a third floor. It seemed to be doing a roaring trade in Sunday lunches. Well worth a visit. Just the Oxford branch of this small chain left for me to try now. I like the concept.

Total hipster b*llocks, but I enjoyed my two pints here the other day. Staff friendly, prices ridiculous.

Hadn't visited Cambridge since this place entered the GBG. Was expecting lots of beer but like the previous person was a little apprehensive about my visit, especially when I saw how busy it was (Saturday 6pm) and having a bouncer on the door (busy city centre pubs with bouncers normally turn me off). Although it was three deep at the door I was served quickly by a well staffed bar. Staff were friendly, although obviously too busy to chat. Lots of light hoppy, craft style beers but had some dark ones too and the scotch eggs were fantastic! Perched on the end of a table with some other groups and everyone was friendly enough. Despite early apprehensions this was an excellent inclusion on my pub crawl.

Expected to hate this place (hipster beards, skinny jeans, Guardian readers), but was pleasantly surprised;- good selection of beers at reasonable prices for city centre.

The selection of beers is superb Dark Star Crème Brulee and Oakham Citra among the cask offerings plus loads of craft stuff including a Swedish barley wine at 11%. Snacks are also appealing and the food menu tempting indeed. The only issue is the space which is not very relaxed and feels like the public rooms of a hotel - the organisation's sister establishment in Oxford is a more straightforward 'bar; environment. Undoubtedly a great place for good beer in Cambridge though - in a city which for years punched below its weight in this regard but is improving.
