Alex you must have an axe to grind. TONES was the best and safest pub i have ever been to. I would often take my wife, my kids, my nephews, & never ever saw any trouble in the place. BRING BACK TONES!!!!!!!!!

prickkkkk!!!! Did you get a slap in here or something f*** off .. dont want you there anyway!!
Thank you, Chelseam and Maggie8. You accurately portray the unrefined, uncultured, uneducated, anti-social behaviour of those wannabe wags, who were so attracted to this thankfully deceased bar.
You also correctly represent the aggressive personality disorders of those who flocked here to scrape their knuckles on the floor and graze them on somebody else's face. [Just one of the reasons why this venue was regularly brought it to the attention of an increasingly disapproving Sutton Police Force].
Thankfully, my deliberately brief visits to this venue were never long enough to get a slap as you understatement suggests and Im certainly not bitter. It should be profoundly obvious from my comments that I am overjoyed to see this pond life magnet disappear forever!
Though the venue is currently unattractively boarded up, the last time I passed by, at least the pavements looked and smelt rather more attractive, without a composite layer of urine, vomit, broken glass and what looked to be occasional spots of dried blood. I am, however, intrigued to know (or rather, avoid) the current venue(s) of your 'slap happy congregation, who formerly frequented here would it be Brixton and Holloway Prisons by chance?

It is with the greatest of pleasure that I can confirm that the notorious Tones Bar is PERMANENTLY CLOSED. No longer will the pavements be paved with urine and resemble a minefield of broken glass.
Gone are the days of the sight of half-cut chavs, wobbling back to their white vans. Departed are the sounds of confrontations between tattooed women with tourettes and covered in the latest range from Elizabeth Duke. Vanished are the 200-decibel conflicts that echoed around a half-mile exclusion zone.
As a result, North Cheam is probably the only place in Britain where house prices have actually gone up in recent months. With the anti-social campaign that has blighted the lives of locals for so many years being finally over, Im surprised there wasn't a WW2 Victory style street party!

Chav city and young offenders reunited on the inside, broken bottles and urine stains on the outside - keep walking.

If you think you so perfect then y are you anonymous. In all pubs you have different types of characters, it's part of life. i'm telling you this place is cushty, if you didn't like it the first time, well perhaps you should come down again you might just like it if you came another night other then when the football is on.
Tones Bar has it's moments but 99% of the time it's a great place to go. I asked one of the Girls behind the bar how much trouble they get in there and she as said since she's been working there for over 3 yrs now she has only seen it kick off about 4 times, now come on thats gotta be something, in most of the other bars in North Cheam and surrounding areas it's kicking off most weekends.
|
You dont know what your talking about, all the girls who work behind the bar are fit in tones, and you can have a proper laugh with them too, some nights they get on the bar and start dancing, it gets the party going...
Tones is a wicked place to go and have a laugh and a drink, yeah there might be the odd "plastic Gangster" in there but all the rest of the locals are cushty. On Monday nights Tony has i specials night, On Thursday nights they have Darts night, on Friday night is a disco and on Saturday Night they have Karaoke, which i can tell you gets very packed. So what if it is pure Chelsea in there... not everyone that drinks in there supports Chelsea, the girls behind the bar certainly don't - they support Arsenal.
Tony and Sue are top people, they always welcome everyone and like you all to have a good time, If you don't like it then go and drink somewhere else.

whoever left this comment....... looks like a swedish sauna from outside!!when chelsea plays its like a sauna inside!full of kids & plastic gangsters takes forever to get served when you do you end up wearing most of it!avoid this bar if you want enjoy yourself.unless your a football hooligan of course!
GET A F*CKING LIFE!!!! Amy and Christine who work behind the bar are FIT!!!!!!!!!

Well, All your comments on this site from so called drinkers aint right..!! Im only 18, and have been brought up around pubs all my life, i can tell you from the experiences that i have had in the past this is one of the best pubs by far..!! I dont live within the area, yet i travel to get there and call it my local, if it werent worth the hassle of travelling i wouldnt bother.. would i.!! The chelsea games are fantastic in there and the atmosphere is great, nearly as good as being at the game itself. fair enough you may have to wait awhile to get your drink but the bar staff cant do everything at once..!! You would expect this in any pub during a football game or competition.
You cant really knock the pub, untill you've properly experienced it, the owners are fantastic and socialise with everyone in there..!! You can walk in on your own and end up talking to mayb a group of four or more..!! You wouldnt get that anywhere alse in the area.

"Anonymous" needs to get his facts straight. Tone's does not have a late licence, and shuts at 11pm like all other pubs. Most of the people in there are friendly, and considering this is a football pub, there is little or no trouble. Most of North Cheams "Yobbish" behaviour comes from the Queen Vic and The Old Drill.

Ive only been going to Tones for the last year to watch Chelsea and England Games and theres no better place for it!!! abosolutely awesome!!!! always packed , great atmosphere, sausages and spuds at half time , footie songs and amazing terraces atmosphere( very very noisey). Even guest appearances from tony's friend Ron 'chopper' Harris. 10/10. Do i get a free pint for this?

This place lowers the 'TONE' of North Cheam even further! Has a late licence which allows this place to open till 1AM. Normally I would not object, but since the granting of the late licence, a lot of the 'local idiots' have descended on this establishment turning North Cheam into a hellhole. I loved being woken up (at 1230AM) to pint glasses, bottles getting randomly smashed and 'thugs' shouting at the top of their lungs - "No surrender to the IRA...." This place serves just lager, alcopops etc. Not a quality boozer - FAR FROM IT!!!

I've literally grown up in this pub and know almost everyone in there. It's a great place to socialise and drink and the regulars are lovely. Tony and Sue are top ;-D mwah xx

Great venue for watching live sport. Tone's Bar is a very big Chelsea pub - showing all the games live.
Half time is best with sausages and roast potatoes !!!!
