This pub is going from strength to strength. New owners, new management so many improvements being made.
Live music almost every week, karaoke every week, pool table, dart board, ping [pong table, beer pong, student nights, football being shown on the TV''s, something for everyone.
Clean, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and no trouble.
Would highly recommend.

Linda has gone and so has a young manager called Glen. Now the restaurant manager, lily has taken over and certainly took the crown by the horns and is turning this little gem around. The food is already of high quality with the Ales following on nicely.
Apart from London pride, the two other ales have become changing guests with a local one aswell. Occasional live music and a Tuesday night quiz and with fantastic food available every day, I just wish I lived nearer.

its so good to see this pub on the up. Linda, the new manager, is trying so hard (and succeeding) in getting the ales to taste so good. She has three on the go nearly all the time. And just a note to say the food is going in the right direction as well.

MLC will be back here on 24th April - looking forward to seeing you all up and dancing again.

STOLEN will be performing at The Crown, Cowley, on August bank holiday Sunday the 29th. Our first time here.
If you like great blues/rock and rock-n-roll covers from the likes of Eric Clapton, J.J.Cale, Neil Young, The 'Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Band, John Lee Hooker and many others, you will enjoy the best of real live music, the excellent real ales and the company of the friendly regulars and staff.

Visited a few weeks ago, first time there in about ten years. Very welcoming pub, nice atmosphere and great free grub on the bar, must visit more often

The Crown has become my "local" since deserting The Load.
I have 2 good pubs on my doorstep, but neither of them have live music any more, so I walk nearly 2 miles to get to this great pub.
Superb and varied real ales, great live music, fantastic company, excellent food, very friendly staff and very quick service. Nice big roaring fireplace for the winter, (although sometimes with a bit too much "atmosphere", but only until Steve sorts it out).
My band "STOLEN" will be playing here early in the new year and I am really looking forward to it. Cheers, John.

Janine the landlady is a very very good cook. Very friendly pub. Bands there most weekends. Would be even better if Janine ran the pub on her own! Bar manager Steve knows what he's doing. Bar staff also very good apart from one grumpy cow with a strange name....begins with a K

Ive used this pub for several years in my opinion the pub has improved year by year. Steve who is now the manager is probablly the best ive seen. The food is excellant the beers are excellent, Janine the owner is probablly the best cook ever and definantly the most attractive women ive ever seen with the sweetest little ass.come and have a look.

This pub had new owners in 2005 and re established it as a local,with friendly staff,good fun nights and good and well kept celler
Function room available and we were given use for the evening to help us out,garden clean and tidy new shrubs,a real good old local,try it out

drank here when a student "next door". Great Staff and a lovely place to spend an evening. I hear it has gone a bit poncy now. Shame. Dave - if you read this you are a star!!
