All the pubs I have visited around the country (believe me its a lot) I go to one of my locals and get asked if I am a local or regular by some miserable guy behind the bar.Blimey how unfriendly is this pub.Me and my son drank up quickly and left.Avoid at all costs .sorry but if not local or regular or anything else you will not get served. Pathetic please bring back old management.

Returned for another Thai meal. Didn't quite enjoy it as much this time. But it's still very local to us and convenient. The bar area was much busier this time around. Doom Bar & Pride were the 2 ales on, with a third handpull vacant.

Had a fairly pleasant Thai meal in here during the week. The pub has won a cellar award. But disappointingly, only 2 ales were on - Hobgoblin & Tribute. The pub has a games room with a pool table as you enter from the car park. Beyond this is the central bar area and at the far side is a small seating area for the Thai meals. We sat next to an interesting old map of pubs and breweries in the local Uxbridge area, which illustrates just how many pubs have closed in recent times. A fairly decent pub that I am more likely to return to for the food than the beer.

Top quality real ale served in this friendly local pub usually 3 quality ales on tap daily. Nice big well kept children friendly beer garden there is also a large carpark. The hut has recently been tastefully redecorated. The bar staff are well trained & you never have to wait to be served. I havent tried the food but it all ways looks and smells delicious. You will not find a better run pub in the area

Went for a pint at the Hut this week after hearing it had been voted best kept celler. I had a pint of Tribute and it was top class.Had a chat to the boss, a nice guy made me feel welcome as did the rest of the bar staff. There was a good mix of people young and old. I will be returning soon. Good beer , Good Company and a all round nice pub.

With regards to the below review: I was in there today, and it had three real ales.
|
Not sure where to start.
Owners are established West London villains. Drugs are part of the pub business.
Speak out of turn and you WILL be clouted.
No real ale just fizz at silly prices.
Frequented by lamps.
NOT nice. You have been warned.

THE BEST PUB IN HILLINGDON BY A COUNTRY MILE,GOOD FOOD,GOOD BEER,GOOD BANTER AND A FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE.
|
The most unfriendliest pub I have ever been to, in all my years, I have never walked into a pub and for them to say, sorry mate we only serve locals and this was in the day, also bear in mind I was in the pub the night before watching the footie. All I can say is if publicans in this day and age think they can afford to turn away business they must charge a heck of a lot on beer to afford to.
I have written to the brewery about this and also the local uxbridge gazette in order for the barman to be held up on this, however was reassured it was the owners son, so I will be taking it up with the owner myself.
|
Popped in here for a pint after work and found it to be a good honest friendly pub. It was busy at 5pm with a good range of customers of all ages and the pint of Brains SA I had was top notch.
|
Still the best pint in hillingdon darts four nights a week. Two pool teams on a thursday and a great thai food and proberly the best of all still the cheapest in hillingdon

Reasonable pub, nothing special, nothing bad.

Quality pub. Been drinking here regular now for around 2 years. Friendly staff with a good range of well kept beers and a great juke-box which tends to be loud in one side of the pub and quiet the other end so everyone's happy. Decent Thai restaurant built in that does great regular food too. Good range of ages within the clientele too and I think that speaks volumes. Rarely any trouble, the pub tends to police itself. Recommended to anyone.

I dont mind the the occasional pint in the Hut but turned up with my brother at 10.10 on a tuesday night and was amazed to find no admittance after 10 . Four other blokes also tried to get in and were turned away. This surely has to be some kind of wind up, it was a tuesday night the pubs off the beaten track and I dont think you get much bother there. Could understand if it was friday or saturday but a tuesday??

The picture of The Hut, was taken before the new extensions were added, making it twice the size and full of character. It looks wonderful now, especially at night, when it is all lit up. The beer garden has a permanent area for barbecues, with a serving hatch in the outside wooden panelling. The restaurant area inside, is away from the drinking areas and is great feature. The food is excellent and the two real ales are well kept. The bar is central to the pub and has the capacity to serve any number of customers, efficiently. John.

went there for the first time since the extensions and refurb and was surprised to see it packed, in the old days it was a very quiet pub. The burger was awesome

Played darts there last night - excellent refit! Good atmosphere, plenty of space to get lost in a corner if you want a quiet drink with your other half and good tv watching space if your ou with the boys to watch the football! Also a big garden with play area for the kids. Would recommend to anybody. Has live music some weekends as well. Definitely worth a vist!

The Hut extension work has still not yet been completed, but it looks pretty spectacular from the outside. It is now more than twice the size it was, but retains the character of the original extensions. John.
|
The Hut is currently undergoing a large extension, following earlier modifications to the interior, which have resulted in the best "bogs" in an Uxbridge pub. When completed, it will have full disabled access and facilities. The live music scene, (solo artists) is still on-going, in the bar area only and the ale is still superb. When the restaurant side of the pub is completed, The Hut will be serious competion for any pub in Uxbridge.

Moderate space around the pool table. Live music was a cher tribute, very good, and lively atmosphere, although some people were a bit agro.
Pint of Boddingtons was 2.30

Following "problems" with the resident band after a great multi-band and guests, live music session on Sunday 1/2/2004, the monthly jam sessions have been suspended.
John - 2 Feb 2004 14:19 |
RELEASE THE PEACH will now also be joining the line-up for this 5 full band "jam session", 14:00-18:00 Sunday 1/02/2004. Something for everyone and great ales too. Don't miss it. John.

On Sunday 1/2/2004 between 14:00 & 18:00, LONG DOG & UNDISCOVERED will be joined by my own band STOLEN and HANDLE WITH CARE & hopefully, Paul Fox (THE RUTS) will be sitting-in with HWC as he frequently does at the Brook House gigs. Come and enjoy some great live music and great live ale. The proposed new stage, has been delayed until the main re-fit in the summer, but the present set-up still makes for a great afternoon's pleasure. See you there, John.

What a difference. A full touring PA system and stage lighting, superb musicianship from LONG DOG and UNDISCOVERED and a great audience. The next jam session will be in February, following modification work to change the storage area into a stage area and more sound-proofing. This will enable set-up time to be moved to an earlier slot, still without disrupting the martial arts training in the hall and a larger seating capacity. More conventional gigs are to follow, featuring the best of the local bands. My crew and I went back after the session and had a few, well earned, excellent Adnams Bitter & Broadside.

The jam session on 2/11/03 drew some incredible talent.Full bands and guest musicians are putting on some truely brilliant performances. The stage lighting made a real show of the great musicianship and will now be a regular feature of these events. Everyone really enjoyed the entertainment and the great atmosphere. This monthly event is getting some great support and new facilities. The next one is 7/12/03 between 14:00-18:00. If you love live music performed by very talented musicians, come and enjoy a Sunday afternoon at The Hut.The admission is free. The Adnams Bitter and Broadside are always in top condition and very keenly priced. John.

LONG DOG, a Middlesex based, powerful, Soul/Blues band, are running jam sessions every first Sunday of the month in the function hall. I will be assisting by providing the stage lighting on the next session 2/11/03 from 14:00-18:00. Come and join in, or just soak it up and have a great time.

Was an original ale-only house, enjoying the benefits of a lot of recent extension work. Serves excelent Adnams Bitter & Broadside. Lots of local events at this well loved local community pub.
