Three Tuns, Romseyback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Very attractive pub with a good range of ales at fair prices (for Romsey). Nice pint of Milk St Amarillo was enjoyed in the sunny garden. Didn't eat, but the food looked excellent so will probably return for a meal.

This is mainly an eating house although drinkers are welcome. 3 Guys serving behind the bar (never good in my opinion!) but they were friendly enough. Beer was spot on, although I forgot what I had so obviously not out of the ordinary. Pleasent enough place. Worth a vist if you can find it, walking from the town. Although clearly visible from the road.

Ended a walk round the Romsey countryside here. Looks like the place has gone a bit up-market, as I always recall it being more of a run-down pub. But I hadn't been here for years so things obviously change. It was very dark inside, with only some dim low lighting. There were several well to do looking retirees sat having food. We had a pint of 'Flack's Double Drop' (nice ale) and went and sat out in the little walled patio area near the back of the pub. Very nice sun trap on a lovely day. Noticed to that the pub is doing afternoon tea's as well. Will come again in the future.

Considering the pub is attached to an up market restaurant in Winchester - the focus on food here is clear. This pub-restaurant is pleasant - service is excellent and the food good. I was hoping the menu would be a bit more adventurous as it consists of pie, pasta, burger, pork belly, fish and chips - fine you might say, but you get this line everywhere. Good quality throughout tho and with most just shy of 10 a dish not excessive.
Beer this week was Ringwood best, Summer lightning, Sharps Doombar - so good varied choice if not niche brewers- which would be nice for freehold's to explore/support. The summer lightning is served too cold for my taste.
No major complaint - if there is a big table in tho expect service to slow up considerably.

This pub was a surprise, a jewel for those who like GOOD food. I eat out 3-4 times a week rating establishments.
First the beer, a good selection of bitters. The Ringwood was on form.
We were moved from the table in the restaurant due to its wobble, apart from that slight hiccup the evening was good. Attentive service, in a warm friendly atmosphere.
The food is excellent. The owners as from 2008, (so ignore any reviews prior to this) have delivered quality local fresh food, cooked to perfection. Considering I went in on a Tuesday evening the restaurant was busy.
A must for those who like a drink and good food.

Only visit this pub on occasion visits to Romsey, but has usually been quite pleasant and still seems to be (I've not eaten here so cannot comment on the quality of the food).

Never eaten here but the interior is nice, and the beer selection not bad as Romsey goes. A nice place to go before or after a curry at Purbani.

The only thing I can say about this pub is please, really dont bother. We have just had Sunday lunch there for my parents Ruby wedding anniversary and I was ashamed that we went there. The pub is in a nice accessible location and first impressions are a welcoming environment, the staff were pleasant and the beer and wines on offer were good. With closer inspection the pub needed a really good clean, the toilets needed a good scrub and there was no toilet roll in either ladies or gents.
The service was pleasant, but totally inadequate and inattentive. We had to prompt at every stage for everything, specials, desert menus, coffee and for any accompaniments. There was never an offer for any of these things. Also a note to anyone that has kids, there is no childrens menu.
When the food arrived it was at best mediocre and for those of us having the Sunday roast, appalling. I have eaten in a lot of places from the trashiest to world class and everything in between and this was most definitely the worst roast that has ever been served to me. Along with the meagre portion of roast pork, was a small amount of carrots and broccoli, which if I had to guess had been boiling since about Tuesday, I honestly thought the 70s approach to cooking had finally been stamped out everywhere except for Grandmas house and the roast potatoes had been cooked for too long, left and reheated producing potatoes of cardboard like quality.
Others who had fish complained that it was very watery and the chocolate brownie pudding had a watery like sauce, which was odd and not very complimentary to the nice brownie. The home made crme brulee would not have looked out of place in a reproduction of Oliver Twist.
Having complained to the waitress about the quality, which was dismissed with a vague apology and nothing more there was nothing to do but pay up and get out, so to the one plus point, they forgot to charge us for one of the meals and as mean as it seems I was in no mood to tell them.
This place has some charm about it, and with a new chef and some competent staff has loads of potential, but at the moment forget it.

I took my family there to try the food one tuesday lunchtime in June 2006. At 12:30 the pub was empty. We found out why when the food arrived - it was awful. Served a reasonale pint of beer though (Gales HSB I think).

Recently changed hands - worth another visit i reckon

This used to be a great pub. Unfortunately it has now turned into a Restaurant and has been spoiled.

A self styled 'gastro-pub'. A lovely place to spend many an evening in the relaxed atmostphere of a modern pub that retains the charm and history associated with the building. Good beer and the food, the restaurant keeps getting busier and busier!
