Busy and noisy bar that is more of a nightclub than a pub/bar. Nevertheless, with most people on a dancefloor, I soon managed to get served and quickly secured a table. There are many screens to show live sport. But with coronavirus decimating the sporting programme, there was only UFC on the TVs. Service was pleasant and there were 4 real ales on offer - St Austell Tribute & Cornish Best & Bath Gem & March Hare. I had the latter, which was hoppy, but good. Not really my kind of place. But not too bad at all.

Decent beer, but too noisy for me on Friday night.

Called in while in Truro today, and it is a few years since we visited. It is in the Good Beer Guide 2010. As it was early we seemed to be the only ones there. Difficult to know as it is huge inside with several drinking areas. There were folk on the pool table, but no-one else sat drinking. Very interesting building inside and being quiet we were able to wander round. The beer was Sharps Doom Bar, St Austell Tribute and Skinners Betty Stogs. We had the St Austell and Skinners and it was brilliant to pay 2.40 for 2 halves after paying over 3 at a lot of places these days. The beer was in good condition so I would say it deserves its place in the Guide.

Visited Aug 08. Truro has a changing pub landscape: the Old Ale House used to be the best, but the miserable landlord and no peanuts plus badly kept beer and bad food means its just not worth it any more. Shame.
The Globe used to be worth a visit but now seems to be ASBO pikey central - a terrible shame because it used to be a really good pub.
The King Bill is shut for renovations and was always loud, so this leave us with Bunters.
Always cheap, sells Doom Bar, lets you bring your pastie in and eat it, Sky Sports, always a good crowd and very friendly bar staff. Busy in the evening at weekends, but it's now my number one place in Truro and pretty much hard to fault - caters for all age ranges.
It's either this or Wetherspoons (quite hard to criticise, but its a chain) - support the independents and try Bunters - my pick of Truro pubs

Lots of beers. Big screens for rugby. A good warm up for a night out. Doesn't pretend to be anything other than a drinking pub...and it's good at it.

Cheap drink, but too noisy and smokey for my tastes.

Nice little hidden away place - 2 for a pint! Good place to watch the football.

One of the very best places in the area. Popular with all ages but especially the younger set as a pre-club warm-up. There's sport on the huge screens, a great selection of beers. The bar staff are friendly and professional.Bunter's is well worth a few drinks. Highly recommended.

Good selection of real ales, usually including Doombar and Tribute, in good condition. An excellent pub for watching football.

great pub. I fullt recomend it. drinks are the cheapest in Truro and staff are very friendly. The comment beofre mine says not to go there for a chat with you mates but i disagree. I admit that it gets quite busy / noisy at certain times on friday and saturday nights but normally it is fine. It is definately best place to drink if your into sport.

Fine if you intend to get super drunk and go to L2 after, but don't even bother if you want to go for a chat with your mates...
