Harbour Arms, Margateback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
I went to this pub a couple of times back in the Summer and found the place very friendly. On both occasions the sun was out and I enjoyed sitting in the sun sipping Gadd's Seashells, reading a book and looking at the seaside view. Very laidback easy going sort of place on the harbour arm and very handy for the Turner Gallery. Food is available although I can't comment on the quality. As the weather was so warm I only popped inside the pub to get drinks but from what I could see there was a nautical theme going on with nets hanging up. All in all a great little pub in an intersting spot and all part of the rebirth of Margate as a place to visit. My only question is how popular the pub will be in the colder months.

Still best pub (in my opinion) in Margate. Busy and welcoming, managed to get a table outside overlooking the harbour....................................fantastic.

Just gets better and better (now in larger premises a door down)

Our 3rd pub of the day and another micro pub.
A short cab ride from Westgate and we arrived at this lovely little micro bar right on the harbour wall and a few steps from Turner Contemporary.
3 real ales on but an amazing 10 real ciders also on. I opted for a pint of Northumberland Brewery On the Pull @ 4.0%
Tiny and busy, full of bits & bobs, there are nets above your head that hold all of things including a couple of surfboards!
Friendly owner / bar staff, outside toilets on the harbour, a little food kiosk next door…all in all this is a very good little place and worthy of anyone’s time when visiting Margate.

A marvellous, micro-pub, out on the harbour arm, not far from the lighthouse at the end. A small, single-room pub, not more than about 4x4m, with three ales all on gravity, a Bank Top Sweeney's, an Avocet from Exeter and another I can't remember. My Sweeney was in excellent condition and I would have liked to stay and try the others if I hadn't had a booking in town. A very relaxed and informal atmosphere. Table-sharing is the natural thing to do in such a small space and the landlord and customers were friendly and welcoming. Simple bar snacks, mostly pickled eggs and pickled onions, of which there were several varieties of each. There's also a piano! Fisherman's netting hangs from the ceiling with many and various adornments. This is now firmly on my list of things to do every time I visit Margate.

9.30pm on a wet and windy Saturday night, six people in, good atmosphere and Whitstable Dana to kill for. Really enjoyable.

Worthwhile, friendly, and unusually characterful micropub on the Harbour Arm. Ales are from around the country and very well kept (some superb porter from Bank Top - Port of Call). There generally seem to be three on. Decent selection of ciders too although my purist companion avoided the ones with fruit other than apples.

These micropubs deserve to do well. When I found the Turner Contemporary closed - it was Monday - and raing, I wandered along the pier and found the Harbour Arms. Three beers and a friendly couple in there. The beer was fine and the Pork & Chorizo roll turned out to be a cold sausage roll whatsit. OK but a crusty cheese & onion roll would have been far better. What better place to go on a wet and windy Monday in Margate, and thanks for the tip about the 'Hair of the Dog' in Minster which I visited later in the day.

Lovely location, small welcoming micro pub, usually three ales on plus various cider/perry. Well worth a visit along with the Northern Belle a few minutes walk away.

Superb location, superb beer. Very welcoming and a must for the serious beer (not lager) drinker. Took in our own fish and chips to complement the pint(s), a definite 'go there again' pub.
