Door Hinge, Wellingback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
I really liked the Door Hinge,it has a lot In common with " The Iceman cometh",with no effort you can Imagine the same blokes sitting In the same seats for years to come.Without the guvnor it would be easy to fall asleep but the banter keeps coming most of it from Max Miller's joke book circa 1940.A limited range of cask unless the local football club are playing a home fixture.9/10.

Another re-visit for me and one of the reasons for wanting to spend a Saturday afternoon at Welling United, the 5 of us headed here straight after the game and managed to get a table before it filled up.
3 ales on, I managed to get a couple of pints of Kent Brewery Pale Ale which went down a treat before the barrel ran out. We were then told we had to wait 15 minutes while the owner changed the barrels, at this point we decided to bail out and head off to Blackfen.
In the 90 minutes we spent here the chatter was lively with the majority of the punters having been at the football.
I really like the Door Hinge, it’s a cracking little micro pub but I agree with other reviewers that the owner can be a little difficult and certainly isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Regardless of that visit and make your mind up, the ales are worthy of a visit alone, looking at all of the pump clips on the walls will tell you how many ales have been offered here since they opened.

The first micro inside the M25 when it opened. Good bar, good beers, good friendly atmosphere. However, a note of caution. The landlord does have a tendency to get lazy when trying to get his beers to drop. He will sometimes add finings to the cask to speed things up. If you get the end of a barrel where this has been done, prepare thyself for a night on the throne.

Excellent small shop conversion that does have the feel of a pub rather than a small shop conversion. All the ales sampled were top notch. With traditional pubs closing and vast noisy drinking barns becoming the norm I hope this is the future for those just wanting a quiet pint and a natter. Prices are also reasonable for the area - £3 for a pint of decent ale (£3.75' next door' for an iffy Kronenbourg).

Visited the pub for the first time on Saturday. A brilliant pub with a wonderful selection of beers. So nice to go to a pub where people can just drink beer and talk and not have be interrupted by televisions and music. Will definitely go back.

The landlord is a good bloke. A proper bloke of the area with character, but not rude by any means.
By Jolly that beer was on good form. Get back to Richmond.

I can only echo what Lezford has said about this place.
Went on Saturday for pre and post Bristol Rovers v Welling game and loved the place and ended up spending almost fice hours in the place! Pre match the pub was packed out with mostly Rovers fans and some local. Post match it was a mix of Rovers and Welling fans, drinking together and having a good laugh and chat with not the slightest hint of any problems.
It is quirky, especially the small lounge at the back which is more like someone's front room! Also don't get caught out, the pub only has ONE toliet, which did cause some long waits during the pre match spell!! And it is not the largest pub by any means.
From memory there were about five or six ales on and three ciders. The Kent Pale and Hophead I had were on very good form. One of group was loving the Winter Cider, I had a couple of pints of a 6% cider at the end of the evening which were also good, can't for the life of me remember the name of it!
The owner an ex-London cabbie is certainly a character (might not be too everybodys taste), there is no music, no TV and mobile phones very frowned upon, as the numerous mobiles nailed to the wall will testify.
Will certainly visit this pub again if I am in the Welling area, might even make a special trip out to as well. Highly recomended.

After a couple of pints in the New Cross Turnpike it was time for my first ever visit to this lovely micro pub that to be honest Welling is crying out for.
The Door hinge is all of these objectives, welcoming, small, quirky and odd! This used to be a shop and once you go through from the bar towards the toilets you can feel it’s previous use. The bar area is full of photos and pump clips, there are hops hanging above the windows and doors.
3 ales and 1 real cider are all served from a cool room that you can look into, there is a blackboard hanging by the serving area listing the beers, their breweries and %
4 of us had 3 pints each in here and stayed for a good hour chatting and enjoying the beer.
I’m not surprised this place has got such rave reviews from ale drinkers (only 1 review on here so far!) it really is a cracking place.
Check the opening hours before planning your visit as it’s only on a Saturday when you can almost guarantee they will be open.

Been in this bar several times and found very welcoming. Owner knows his beer and is a very engaging character. Beer is served by gravity and is kept in a cool room that can be looked into from the bar. I suggest that you visit this bar - you will not regret it.
