Beer in Hand, Herefordback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Describes itself nowadays as a "pub" with no mention of its micro origins or influences. With no atmosphere inside on early Friday evening, the only real attraction is the wide range of beers - I tried a pint of Wild Weather Sleepy Joe's which I quite enjoyed.

Couldn't agree more with BS, it's bigger than most micros. Last stop of the day before the hotel. The stillage is now inside glass fronted cabinets as well. A good range and opted for Bristol Beer Factory Milk Stout which was good.

The Beer In Hand bills itself as a micropub. But it's more of a 'macropub' and is bigger than any micropub I have been in before. Whilst it looks fairly small from the outside, it does stretch back quite a way. There is a table football game near the entrance. The bar itself is at the rear. Ales are in a glass chiller behind the bar. 4 were on during my Saturday evening visit - Odyssey Pocket Nuke, The Cult & Oatmeal Stout & Titanic Steerage. Ciders are kept in a fridge and were Olivers Showdown, Gold Rush, Traditional Cider & Perry, Henneys Traditional & Abrahalls Medium Sweet. There were also a selection of craft beers and a number of bottles too. Different styles of seating are available throughout the pub and there is an outdoor area to the side. A decent addition to the Hereford pub scene.

My first time in here and all I can say is that it's the best new pub I've tried for a long while. Good choice, staff know their stuff, absolutely top quality beers, reasonable prices, comfy sofas.

We stumbled on this place and were delighted to see so many beers on offer. Yes the decor seems to be a bit lacking, but we would rather have a good pint than a good sofa any day of the week! We sampled a couple of micro brewery pints, the staff were knowledgeable about their product and that, coupled with their enthusiasm made for a great, slightly foggy, afternoon. Apparently the ales on offer change quite regularly and We are looking forward to another visit soon.

Large range of very well kept beers and ciders. It's been converted from a launderette and still has a slightly stark feel to it, but the bar staff are great and very knowledgeable about their beers. A few beers from local micros seem to be permanent but the rest rotate so it's always worth popping in to see what they've got. No food available but you can bring your own from the nearby takeaways.
